Lilacs- You said you still believe there is a God. So what are you going to do about it? Just let this "God" pass you by, not knowing what will happen to you when you die. What if you are all wrong, and everything the Bible says is actually true (which it is), what are you gonna do now?

When you stand before the Almighty God after your death, and He asks you "Why should I let you into heaven?" What are you gonna say? "Because I denied you, and Your Word. I blasphemed your name and ridiculed you. But now I know you're real, let me in. I actually wasn't too bad."

Sangdigger- I couldn't have said it better myself. That was great. I don't see where anyone can come up with a reasonable argument against that, without contridicting the Bible. So, just want to say well done!

The proof I have is the Bible. It was not written by "some dude" it was God breathed which inspired men to write it down in words.(2Tim. 3:16) How can you be "spiritual" and need proof for everything? You need faith-trusting in something, though you might not see it. For example- is there a Japan? Yes. How do you know? Have you ever been there? (If so, replace Japan with somewhere you have not been) No you haven't. But, you believe it's there. Interesting...

Adam sinned. You agree. Therefore cursing the entire human race. Now, don't be asking "well, why!? etc..." Just accept it, cuz you know it's true. So because Adam sinned, we also are sinful from birth. Our own nature is evil, and the intention of our heart is wicked (Jer. 17:9). Everyone deserves a just punishment for their own sin. That punishment is Hell, eternal misery, eternal separation from God, etc... But, God being rich in mercy sent His only Son to live a perfect life as a man on this sinful earth.

Then you said "Why didn't God be more merciful and save everyone?" (Look up mercy in the dictionary.)He could, but He didn't. One reson being- when people are in Hell that glorifies Him. "How?" Because that is His wrath being satisfied and poured out on unworthy sinners. God is a just God and gives each action its right punishment. That is why Jesus had to be human, fully human, yet fully God. He had to be so that sinners might be perfectly redeemed.

God... blood thirsty? I don't think so! As said before, we all deserve Hell. God is sovereign He can do whatever He pleases. (Ps. 115:3) They deserve Hell anyways, right?
Well, just letting you know and I hope you believe it, because if you don't- you are denying your creator. The Mighty God. The eternal Father. And if you haven't truly repented of your sins, turned to follow Christ with your whole heart, then His wrath sure will be satisfied with you...

To The Field! Umm, Maybe Not..

even after all these years away from dubbism, i still get a buzz each sunday morning when i awake and think "no field service ever again!".

i appreciate that it's now called something along the lines of "engaging in the ministry" or similar, back then we simply "went on the work".

god, how i loathed it.. so tomorrow, instead of door-bashing and meeting attending, i will do what i want to do.

Ok, Limited Atonement:

This has, and probably will always be, a contraversy in Calvinism. I was just telling you what the 5 points were, not saying I believe all of them. I definately believe in 1,2,4,5. Those are completely based upon the scripture. Yet, number 3 has caused me trouble.

We are horrible sinners. How can you disagree with that? We are not saved by works..why not? Lest anyone should boast. (Eph. 2:9) If salvation were left up to ourselves, everyone would be in hell, getting their just punishment for their own sins. So God chooses on a unconditional election. Not on anything good we've done (cause we've done none), but on His own will. I really don't see anything contriversial about that. If you say that this teaching of men is wrong, then you are saying that the Bible's wrong. It's from the Bible

(By the way- John Calvin wasn't the founder of Calvinism. Augustine was- it was just later named "Calvinism")

Ok, sorry how I sounded. I did not mean to sound "pushy". It's just I dont' think you understood what I was saying. There isn't a point on "arguing over people". But there is a point to discuss the Bible- that point is salvation. To realize one's sin and repent of it. Knowing you are so sinful and recognizing God's holiness.
Calvinism sounds like a great excuse to be the biggest loser you can be.
How in the world can "calvinism" cause you to be a loser? Are you saying that the Bible is the best excuse to be a loser? Yes you are. And that's pretty sad.

Didn't you understand me? "Calvin has not been mentioned in the Bible..ever" Has your name ever been mentioned in the Bible? No. Does that mean you shouldn't believe anything that you say? How can that be? I only agree with Calvin's theology (most) which is taught in the Bible. Did you not see all the scripture references used for each point?

"The DoctrineS of Grace" Is another title for "The 5 points of Calvinism" Do ya get that?

Believing in God does nothing regarding your salvation. James 2:19- the demons believe in God- and shudder. So "believing" doesn't save you. Repentance does. And the doctrineS of Grace are a clear layout of the gospel.

Jesus was NOT a women. 1Timothy 2:8-12 "...I do not allow a women to teach or exercize authority over a man..." Jesus definately exercised authority over men, so he must be a man.

There are 2 different Greek words referring to the word "man"

1. anthropos= mankind</P>

2. andros= male</P>

The latter is used in 1Timothy. That is just one simple example. What about all the references to Jesus
