I am wondering if this new donation arrangement is actually a way to clear cash off of the books by retiring a bunch of KH loans all at once. This would be done in atpnticipation of the financial disclosure required in 2015. It also generates a predictable forecastable income level.

Pure speculation for several reasons.
"Friends, it has been 100 momentous years since Christ arrived as King. In the last 100 years a great shout of praise has gone up to Jehovah. Technology has greatly changed the way people live and communicate and Jehovah has made sure that his organization is on the forefront of these changes. we can now say with all confidence that the work of preaching the good news to the entire inhabited earth has been accomplished. Jw.org is the most visited religous website, and that could not have happened without your self sacrificing spirit as you advertised the kingdom."
Since we have this tool Jw.org to reach people throughout the world wherever they are, it has been decided that the primary focus of all Christians will be to support hundreds of building projects that are in planning or construction. Please contact your branch construction overseer for more details.
reasons for thinking this....
when was the last time pioneering was really highlighted?

In Death lies Glory
by BluePill2 ini was alone at the new branch construction site in ticuantepe (nicaragua).
everybody had taken off for a weekend assembly in the capital and it was my turn to have watchman duty and guard the site.
we had dogs and i only had to walk around the perimeters and check all the gates and entrances.. suddenly a young boy appeared at the main gate, breathless and visibly nervous.

Is College Worth It? Clearly, New Data Say...
by NewYork44M ina new set of income statistics answers those questions quite clearly: yes, college is worth it, and its not even close.
for all the struggles that many young college graduates face, a four-year degree has probably never been more valuable.. here is the article from the new york times:.

Very interesting. I am one of the few exceptions to have a well paying corporate job without an advanced degree. Despite this I am returning to school to get my undergrad in business management to further my career opportunities. I also want to set an example for my kids and show them that YES a college degree is important.

I'm surprised the monthly amount is only 350$
Still if every cong did 350 a month x12 x 112000 congs = yearly tithe of $470,400,000

Letter to BOE: Adjustment in process for appointing elders and ministerial servants
by pixel inhello, you read it here first!.
governing body of jehovah's witnesses.

This is just another degree of separation between the branch and the Congregations. I wouldn't be surprised if they move to an annual review/ appointment and reappointment system. That way after 1 yr they can say "we haven't appointed any of the elders in the congregation".
i wonder if headquarters will still ask for information on on judicial cases?

What if Everyone Demaded Answers About Where the Money is and What it is Used For?
by TTATTelder inwhat if right in the middle of rolling out their latest money-grabbing scheme, there was an uprising demanding financial transparency?.
i thought jehovah was a god of organization and numbers.
isn't that why we report time and have all these annual reports?.

I asked an elder and the answer was....
"the slave lovingly doesn't want to burden the flock with that information. If the flock saw the donations decreasing due to the tough economy they might feel even more stressed about donating"
true response.

Your Experience with Resigning as an Elder
by committeechairman ini'm considering resigning as an elder.
i'm not planning to fade or stop as one of jehovah's witnesses, just stop serving as an elder.. i have responsibility in the congregation and in circuit, district, rbc, etc.
and i'm completely exhausted.

You can't just resign. They want to know why. There is never an answer that will be adequate in their eyes. The new shepherd book talks in detail about what to do when an elder wants to quit.
For me I was tired. I too was on circuit and district parts, rBC blah blah blah. I served in a rural area on a small body. Was the sec, wts and TMS overseer all at the same time. I remember one meeting where I gave the public talk last minute and conducted the wt study. I moved congs after that but was still an elder. I laid the groundwork with the boe for about 7 months prior and told them I was "thinking about quitting" and then used the family card as I had a newborn at the time. my wife was not awake yet to ttatt but she could see how miserable I was as an elder. It didn't help that I was full of doubts and anger about being deceived my entire life. Think about how hard it is to write a public talk when you know it is all bs. In the end it was too hard and I didn't want to sell my soul to a pharisaical religion. So I quit.
it was the best thing I ever did. One of the things that will clue the branch in to their problems is seeing appointed men quit.
