i was just wondering with all the people on this board and especially all the new ones lately where everyone is from?
you can include your city if you feel comfortable enough.
i will start this off by saying that i live in knoxville tennessee, originally from dayton ohio.

i have been trying to locate a cybill from dayton ohio, she has been known as the head apostate in that area for years.
she's an older woman and someone on another board says she is alive and doing well, but not sure which board she posts on.
i figure if i can get ahold of her, she would have info about upcoming apostafests and meetups in ohio.

a few weeks ago, a brother called me out of the blue and asked me if i was interested in working for him.
he told me he had his own business and was looking to "expand.
" he told me i "was a special person" with "good qualities" and "capable of going places.
Primerica is a very decietful company and they wanted my wife to come for an interview for a district manager position, when we arrived there I saw through it for what it was, Just another sham. The guy who was interviewing my wife was quite uncomfortable to the fact that I could smell a rat, they are somewhat like a cult and I bet it amazes them that there are people smart enough to see through their deceptions, I guess that was one positive thing I learned from being a witness- how to spot coercive and manipulative organizations for what they are

i was wondering what if any other religious background any of you had other than being a jw and if you have any comparisons.
i was brought up as a 7th day adventist.
once i was on my own as an adult, my former sis-in-law started studying with me and the rest was history.
Even though I was raised a JW, most of my "worldly" family down home in kentucky are freewill baptists and I consider that my beliefs now, even though I dont attend church as often as I like, I always try to attend church with them whenever im there for a visit. For those of you unfamiliar with them, they are mostly old fashioned country churches who are even more conservative than southern baptists. I enjoy their singing and their preaching style, Twice a year they have their dinner on the grounds and a footwashing service, they also hold on to the king james bible. They are totally so opposite from my jw family, who would have thought I would have ended up there. I will say they seem to be the most sincere when it comes to their personal beliefs and they have a strong prayer life. My family there have been an inspiration on me when I was growing up through a troubled childhood, and I believe if it hadnt been for them praying for me, I might have ended up in the psych ward or on drugs

Hey Gang, I would just like to say that the 3 of us had the time of our life down there and we enjoyed meeting everyone. Never have I felt so touched by something as I did this apostafest. It was so hard for us to leave Texas on sunday morning. Everyone was so nice and understanding. I would like to thank all of the local people who helped organize this event, especially Valis, Big Tex and Cruzanheart, and all the rest. I can only mention a few notable people from the event as I have a limited time here at this computer terminal. I would first like to Thank Country Girl for it was her who mentioned to me this event when we were in Nashville for the Silent Lambs, and she encouraged me to come. I would like to say I was very pleased to finally meet up with Bryan and his wife and to thank them for the dinner they treated us to in Ft. Worth they are such nice people and hope they can come and visit with us up here. Wildfire (Brenda) is such a hoot and was the life of the party, I will miss hearing her talk and her cheerful demeanor, she is such an upbeat and fun person. I really enjoyed my lengthy conversation with moreisbetter and could have talked for 24 hours straight with her. I enjoyed listening to wild turkey and Littletoes experiences as elders.I enjoyed talking with shutterbug at the pool and discussing our medical problems. I know there are more, but maybe in the next few days I can post more here about Dallas. I am missing Texas something fierce and if I was financially able to, I would probably move down there. I would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone from the apostafest and this board to come and visit with us here in Tennessee and we can show you all the sights around here, we have a spare bedroom and would love to have visitors. Once again thanks To Valis and all those in Dallas who made this a truly remarkable experience for us all
