  What If: The UN actually DOES "turn on" and destroy religion?

  so it stuck me the other day that modern jw prophecy is notnearly as bizarrely cocky as such past gems like the "house ofprinces" (1925?

  ) or even the 1975 fiasco.

  I imagine that sometime in the future the countries of the world will start handing over their own sovreignty and power to the UN, it would require this first before the UN could ban religion.
  
  Right now in this time period, I kind of doubt it. Atheists, while being very vocal in their hatred of religion (christianity especially) are still in the minority, except on this board where they are in the majority.

  Who remembers – the NWT Bible on 3.5 inch Floppy Disks?

  at the dawn of the age of the pc, before the advent of the cd, when pcs had 10 mg hard drives and when few people had pcs at home, the society brought out what at the time was an amazing piece of software: the nwt bible for the pc.

  i think it came on something like 12 3.5 inch floppy disks, which took an eternity to load, but as a piece of software was really cool at the time.

  it allowed for a full text search way before yahoo and google ever were thought of.

  What time period was this? because I left for good in 1993, and I don't ever remember those being available. Where did JW's get them, from the literature counter or at the conventions? Did you have to special order them?

  i still have the jws beliefs, but havent attended in probably 5 years or so.

  i have an interesting question to ask.. as much as everyone slams the jws on here, i want some insite on politics.

  now i watched the democratic covention the last few nights, and i really want a democrat myself, but couldnt help hearing bill, hillary and other democrats wanting not only wanting equal rights for all races, children, but also homosexuals.
