by snowbird in... to do the invocation at obama's swearing in on january 20, 2009?.
gregor asked this on bts's thread, but i am afraid it may get buried underneath all the other stuff.
what denomination is rick warren and why all the blather about him giving the inaugural invocation?

Because Atheists and White Liberals saw Obama's election as a slam dunk against religion, only to find out that they have traded one preacher for another, with similar values at that !!

And UGLY response to a Christmas Card!
by LovesDubs inboy..just when i thought things couldnt get weirder in my life...i spent a whole day designing a christmas newsletter with colorful pictures and stories about what my kids and family have been doing, and the election and you know...year end things and greetings, to send out.
i do this every year.
this year i had to file bankruptcy in august and decided to email the newsletter to save money.

So this man has been your father in law for 22 years and you haven't even had a conversation to him face to face, and he wouldnt know you from squat? That seems a little odd.

Are you still considered an outcast because of your JW past?
by Quirky1 ineven though i no longer proclaim being a jw it seems to have tarnished my relationship with others, including family and even co-workers.
.
i feel as tho i am still treated differently than others..

I am an outcast to the the atheist and "alternative lifestyle" crowd, but no loss there.

Not me, I can walk into almost any church and be treated with the utmost respect., same with my non-jw family, and my friends up in Kentucky.

What convinced you?
by heybaby inas far as doctrine goes, what finally convinced you that this isn't the truth?
-
Junction-Guy
When they changed their doctrine on the 1914 generation, up until that time, while I still had alot of discontent with the cult itself, I still could not rule it out, until they themselves changed that doctrine.

I no longer believe in their concept of Armageddon, so I guess it doesn't bother me anymore.

What if...
by Honesty inted jaracz formally disassociated himself from the jw's and started posting on this forum.. .
.
would you welcome him with open arms?.
-
Junction-Guy
it depends, but I definitely would be interested in hearing what he has to say. If he is sincere and fully repented of his involvement in the JW's, I would be more inclined to welcome him.
