"spiritual food" would have to be my choice, I remember at the assemblies they used to announce "brothers and sisters, what fine spiritual food Jehovah has provided" I almost want to puke just typing this.

OMG! The Baptists!
by Ghosthunter inlast night, around 6:00, a couple of well-dressed young men knocked at my door.
i didn't think they were jw's, as they weren't carrying bookbags and they didn't have the "stepford jw" look.
but, i made my hub answer the door anyway.

Well I have lived in the apartment for the last 3 1/2 years and have yet to see JW's in our neighborhood, But i have had Baptists at my door 4 times, in fact just last week the doorbell rang around 6pm while I was on the phone, my wife answered the door and there were 2 young women wearing dresses and had a tract in their hand, I was getting excited and then found out they were Baptists, I told them I thought they were JW's and they just laughed, anyway I should have used this as an opportunity to Anti-Witness but I was just polite and accepted their tract. Where are the Witnesses? Oh how I wish they would show up at my door.

Any picketers here? say from the southeast region of U.S.?
by Junction-Guy inwell i would love to picket some conventions in north and south carolina, i live in tennessee and the closest one away is johnson city about 80 miles from me, however there is a good possibility that some of my witness relatives from ky might be attending there.
the next closest ones to me would be winston-salem nc, columbia sc, or birmingam alabama.
these other locations are just a little too far for me right now and with gas so expensive i just dont think i could afford the extra expense right now.

Hey Chevysntats that was a good idea, why not put little stickers on the bible with the address to this site or freeminds anyway it would get the message out loud and clear. This could have been a good opportunity to fish around a bit and find out who put them in the rooms, you could even pretend to be an "interested one" and ask the desk clerk if could keep a copy for yourself. Never in my days have I ever heard of anything but a gideon bible in a motel.

JWs--cult or am i just bitter?
by sinamongurl inafter reading many experiences and comments on the board, i have begun to have questions.
questions that i really didnt know i until i read them.
as a recently df'd person, i am still struggling with whether jws are really a cult or is it just that im bitter for being torn away from the only thing that i knew, where i had friends that i thought loved me.

Yeah but Im going to bed soon as I have to head back home to Tennessee tomorrow. anyway here is the text of the message as i had a posting error--Anyway we decided saturday to come home for Ky for fathers day just for 1 day so my wife could see her Dad and I could see some of my relatives. I saw 3 of my cousins earlier today-my non jw cousins. I finally explained to one of my cousins, she is 68 years old. I told her more about my JW upbringing and how the fear of Armageddon and its immenence caused me to make so many poor career choices and decisions when I was younger, Tears were flowing down her cheeks as she told me she was so glad im out of that "mess" She is familiar with the JW's herself as her mother was one, but she has never been inside a kingdom hall as far as I know and attends the church of christ. Anyway we had a really long and interesting discussion and i told her about the UN, pedophiles, and various other issues. It literally shocked her. She was always one of my favorite cousins growing up so I finally just felt the need to explain certain things in my life and why im in the predicament Im in now. Any way I enjoyed my visit and chat with her. Later on yesterday evening I attended church with my 3 other cousins and their husbands at the Rockhouse Freewill Baptist church, We had about 60 show up for the evening service. My wife decided not to go tonight and visited with her mom and dad instead. Well tomorrow i have to head home to the big city of Knoxville and i know I will be homesick again, but I can always come back on the weekend sometime. I go back to work tomorrow night. later y'all

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Blessed?
by Kenneson inthe following quote is from the watchtower, october 15, 1993, page 11:.
"spacious kingdom halls, expensive sound equipment, assembly halls, and attractive bethel homes bring glory to god and offer a silent witness that he is blessing his people.".
if this is true of jehovah's witnesses, should it not be equally true of catholics, who through the centuries have constructed the vatican as well as magnificent cathedrals?

Just more of their typical hypocrisy, I wouldnt call it being blessed, Being a JW is more like a curse
