Before I had my emergency appendectomy, I told the doctor that I would take blood if needed. This was after my Dad and Stepmom argued with the doctor in the hallway. The doctor came in alone and asked me. I was 13.

Any JWs who did NOT refuse BLOOD transfusion?
by JWdaughter ini have never heard of one.. the key word here for me is "minor".......mature or not.......the law would still see them as a minor and couldn't override the parents decision for fear of lawsuits or worse.. like i said............i have never heard of one.

I have only been to one, and I didn't really see the fascination with it, perhaps I should try it again.

Since you on the right won't answer this question. Abortion
by dawg ini posed this question on another thread... namely burns and hooberus...wouldn't answer, so i thought i'd ask it again in an open thread..., .
you on the right disagree with roe v wade... so that means that you want to redefine when a zygote, embryo, or a fetus has what anyone would rule for lack of better words "the right to life"... .
exactly when is life, human as per your definition?

No, it isn't. If you are contemplating this, then please get help.

I am pro-life, but I will give leeway for rape victims and for the life of the mother.
Abortion used as birth control for getting drunk and acting promiscuous, I think they should have to carry that child. -

Well back in Kentucky, a 3rd cousin to my grandma had died, and in his obituary it listed him as both a JW and a FreeMason. I had heard he was irregular at the meetings. I don't know if he became a Mason before or after the JW's. He did have a JW funeral, which makes me think that he was a Mason prior to a JW. I will have to ask grandma about this.

I don't have time to research this, as I am leaving for Nashville shortly, but I do believe that various other bible translations render it differently. and if by chance they do not, then I believe he meant it in the context of Free-Will, So that's about all I can say today. Maybe others will give you their perspective.

Where would you relocate in Texas and why?
by White Dove ini love the heat, humidity, palm trees, and the ocean.
at the same time, i don't want to get flooded out by a hurricane.. do you think there are places far enough above sea level that don't get flooded in houston?.
would you recommend dallas as a good place to relocate?.

I lived in San Antonio back in 1979 and 1980, I was under the impression that they had a dry heat and no humidity, that is what my mom always said about it.
Dallas seemed a little more humid than San Antonio, but Texarkana had steam room humidity.
Amarillo had very low humidity.
