There are ways he could get around this ruling. He could change his business to a church, make people getting married sign some kind of declaration that they have joined the church (if only temporary), and that they abide by the church's doctrine. Once they are married, they are free to disassociate if they like. I can think of plenty of ways he could legally get around this. The point is he shouldn't have to--this is America. 20 years ago if someone predicted this would happen, they would have been laughed at. It just goes to show you how the slippery slope argument is real.

I will tell you one thing, debating with those of the liberal agenda is very similiar to the Watchtower. They can twist the bible just like the JW's and almost give them a run for their money. It seems that in my debates with them, my experience with the Watchtower has helped me to see their tactics beforehand and know what kind of response they will give. I believe no one should be forced to perform in any marriage ceremony that involves a strong moral component that they find repugnant.

Do you remember the 15 minute break at the Sun. meeting?
by 3rdgen ina poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min.
break between the talk and the wt study on sundays.
the break was supposed to be to allow jw's time to drive their bible studys home from the talk.

Just watched a documentary on the Mormon church and I reckon they have got far more scandal and issues with BS doctrins than the witnesses ever did
by joe134cd inmust admit i didn't know a lot about the mormon church, so i decided to spend my saturday night exploring them on you tube.
after having viewed it i reckon the watchtower dosnt even come close to the scandal and total bs that surrounds the mormon church.
this is just 2 examples.

I think most churches probably care more about relevance than doctrine, along with money, devotion etc etc etc which is why I can even see the JW's evolving. There will always be hardcore churches who don't water down the bible though and their numbers will drop for sure--the bible says so.
