so my husband rarely talks to his sister and never talks to his mom.
his sister, brother in law and mom will have nothing to do with me because 10 years ago when i left the jws they heard rummors (gossip) that i was apostate.. husband is totally apostate too by their standards but they ignore what they don't want to see.
he celebrates all the holidays, goes to church, celebrates birthdays and bad mouths the wts all the time.. well sister in law calls this morning and he is on the phone with her for one hour.
I often have conversations with my side of the family and not talk about my husband, and they all get along.
If my husband had a conversation with one of his siblings and I was not mentioned it would not be unusual and I would not be offended.
That's what siblings do.

as some may remember, i posted about being dubious as to accepting anniversary presents this year from my super-dub family, esp.
my older sister.. well we agreed with the consensus on here that it was best to accept with gratitude and this we have done, but i would just like to reproduce what she wrote in the card accompanying the present and flowers.. after the happy anniversary she wrote :.
"it makes us sad to think of all the anniversaries past when you were part of our christian congregation.
No matter what you say it will be wrong.
Either wrong for you, or, wrong for them.

are ex witnesses that much different?.
I have had a bit to do with a born again fundamentalist Christian lately.
He knows my background and never misses an opportnity to knock Witnesses beliefs.
Of course I don't believe much of the Witness teachings anymore. But neither do I believe what he teaches.

The brochures are for the uncommitted, unknowing and unsuspecting. The pubs barely read them, so the gb can get away with it.

I think the wording in the 93 quote is very explicit.
They don’t say “Unless the Holy Spirit agrees”. Or “unless the other members agree”. No, it is “a sufficient number”.
One would not imagine that every time there was a discussion they decided “What will be the sufficient number this time”.
Obviously they have a number or a percentage that must agree. They just don’t say what it is.

hey, here is a little update on my fade:.
an elder have been calling me for a couple of weeks now... i didnt answer the phone, and after two weeks he stopped calling.
i was releaved... until today... i just recieved a mail from the same elder, telling me that he and another elder wants to visit me - he gave a bs reason about them rearranging the groups in the congregation and wrote they were visiting all the puplishers.
Three cheers for leaving and nugget.
