  New Society DVD - Review

  i just got home from a wonderful evening out at a 'brother's' house.

  after a good meal shared with some other brothers and sisters, you can't imagine my excitement when the host brother brought out the wonderful new society video that he'd recently received at the kingdom hall, and suggested we watch it!

  now, as you can probably imagine, this was my idea of how to have fun on a saturday evening.

  I know that as a humble sister I really should not counsel you. However

  (adjusts tea towel) I must say I think your attitude is rather worldly.

  You are aware I am sure that many on this site no longer have access

  to the up building DVD’s supplied by our "mother". So how do you

  think those poor deprived souls are going to feel when you tantalize them so.

  You get them all excited, in a lather of anticipation, but they can never see

  the wonderful provisions you brag about viewing. I don’t think yours is

  a loving attitude and, sadly I will have to mention it to my dear husband,

  who as you know is the PO.

  Seeing this is the third time I have had to talk to him about you,

  I really don’t think much of your chances of ever even carrying the mikes again.

  Not only that I don’t like your mother.

  Should I leave the WTS?

  after hearing the coverups and scandals, im thinking about leaving the wts for good.

  while reading all of these coverups, i felt like my wife just cheated on me with my brother.

  I highly recommend leaving the Watchtower immediately, without question, doubt, or fear!

  Hi Jim,

  That is quite different to what you yourself did. Your experience of slowly removing yourself and your family from the organization is still on Randy's site.

  Do you not recommend that now,. .(new light perhaps)?

  Another variation on the theme.

  In "Organized to do Jehovah's Will" published last year, they devoted 11 paragraphs to Jesus and 17 to:

  "Trusting the 'Faithful and Discreet Slave' ".

  On page 20 they say:

  "Another way to show that we trust the slave class today is to support its decisions. Even though we may not fully

  understand the reasoning behind certain decisions, we know that upholding them will be for our lasting good.

  On occasion important issues have been clarified, and we have wholeheartedly supported these decisions.

  As a result, Jehovah blesses us for our obedience to his Word and the slave class.

  We thus show our subjection to the Master Jesus Christ."

  It is true that the writer of Hebrews exhorted his readers, as believers in Jesus Christ, to submit to their local leaders. But what the WTS ignores is the very legitimate question of why. Why indeed are "we" to "submit" and "obey" our leaders? Because our obedience is predicated on a certain eventuality.

  In vs 14 tells the writer tells "us" that WE have a "lasting city" which is not here but we are seeking the city which is to come. [Which the WTS says is the "heavenly Jerusalem" and which is limited to the ''anointed''] What the WTS in effect is saying is that the act of obedience is required, but the reward is not !!

  Ever met a CO's wife who was healthy and happy?

  i just read another topic about cos and it got me thinking .

  almost every single co's wife was sick and terribly unhappy.

  i remember listening to them complain about not having a home, not having children, the accomodations of the friends, etc.

  How would you feel if you had to wander all over the countryside, without home or family, having to eat whatever

  food is put in front of you, then be sweet and charming to everyone even though you're tired, lonely and have PMS.

  I think there would be times you would be miserable too.
