  Thank you ynot, and you too Vinny. That was a great list of most of their false teachings over the years. I have kept it for future reference.

  Now I, with the help of you dear ones on this board have a little list of teachings that were accepted in 1919 (when Jesus was supposed to have chosen them), but are no longer believed and most of which you could now be disfellowshipped for believing.

  1.Celebrated x-mas (1928-banned)

  2. Celebrated birthdays 91951-banned)

  3. Worshipped Jesus

  4. Faithful and Wise Slave was Russell

  5. Christ was enthroned in 1874

  6. Used the Cross until 1931

  7 Taught pyramidology

  8. Taught Armageddon to come 1925,

  9 Taught that Millions then living would never die.

  10 Prayed to Jesus

  11 . Expected the return of

  Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection." Millions Now Living Will Never Die, page 89. 1925

  12. 1799 was the beginning of the time of the end.

  Thank you Oompa, Drew, Vinny and ynot, I appreciate your replies very much.

  No doubt "The Finished Mystery" is some of the worst written fiction of the twentieth century, and that alone would preclude their being "chosen".

  I guess what I would like to have at the tip of my tongue (for JW relatives) is 5 or 6 major teachings current in 1919 to prove they simply could not have been "chosen" by anyone in in their right mind, let alone Jesus Christ. If those teachings contradict present teachings that would be better still.

  I mean to say, who said they could change teachings approved by Christ when he "chose" them in 1919?

  2 times now but back in the 60's I remember it was 3 times a year.

  Blondie is right, as usual. In 1970-71 it was changed from every four months to every six months.

  i grew up as a jehovah's witness.

  my mother was uneducated and so we moved every 2-4 years as she tried to find stable enough work to support a child so ive attended many kingdom halls and have known many witnesses and many elders.

  i've never gone back to the witness organization and never will.

  Hi James,

  I must say you would have a lot more credibility if you actually knew about that of which you speak.

  Having a blood transfusion is a disfellowshipping offence. You didn't know that? .

  Obviously you didn't or you wouldn't have said this: "No one would be disfellowshiped for a blood transfusion."

  Remember you have been away a long time. Another thing you didn't know is that they don't call it disfellowshipping,

  they call it disassociation. However the results are the same, you are treated as dead by your family and previous "friends".

  The religion of your youth has become a much more controlling group and you seem not to have taken that into account.

  How could you. You didn't know! You have not been associating for what, twenty years?

  It may be a good idea if you caught up on what has happened in those two decades before you come here pontificating on what

  others should or should not do in circumstances you yourself have not experienced.

  i received my copy of barbara andersons cd paedophilia in an american religion a month or two ago, and i have been reading through it since.. what follows, although i have called this a review, is in no sense a scholarly consideration of the legal merits of the cases described, a task for which i am wholly unqualified.

  these are, rather, my subjective reflections on the material presented, the impressions i gathered while reading the legal filings, my untrained, common-man appraisal of the cases laid out in those documents.

  ill also admit to being swayed by tone of voice adopted, and to using my own common-sense yardstick in determining the reasonableness of the statements made, the responses given and the arguments put forward.
