Quotes from the WT that piss off the WT
by Smiles inthere are many websites (like this one) that use quotes from wt publications, however, the wt has not filed a lawsuit against those websites... yet.. any ideas on what specific quotes at http://quotes.watchtower.ca pissed of the wt so that the wt has now filed a lawsuit?.
it has to be some specific quotes.
something that really embarrasses those wt bastards.

Yeah, when poor Johann and family try to go back to the Mennonites, the JW elders will expel them.

The most recent WT article that will come back to bite them is in the September 1, 2005 Watchtower, page 23-26.
There the WT lashes out at the Mennonites for their practice of expelling members. Here are some direct quotes:
"Many feel oppressed and live in dread of being expelled from the community - a terrible prospect for one who has never experienced life outside."
"...church preachers, who threatened Johann's family with expulsion if they did not stop. Later, during a family discussion about the pressure the Mennonite elders were putting on them, one young man spoke up."
"A few days later, the church elders came to the home of Johann's family with an ultimatum for the interested ones: " We heard that Jehovah's Witnesses visited you. You must forbid them to return, and unless you hand over their literature to be burned, you face expulsion."
"How did the elders react? They expelled them for studying the Bible! This was a cruel blow indeed."
"Neighbors surrounded the home to take away the wife of one of the young men, asserting that she could not live with her expelled husand. Despite all of this, the families who studied the Bible did not give up their search for the truth."
"Cut off from their community, the families began making their own cheese. The missionaries helped them find buyers. A longtime Witness in North America who grew up in a South American colony heard about the families' plight. He had a special desire to help."
"It was difficult after we were expelled from the community. We would travel to the Kingdom Hall with sad faces."
September 1, 2005 Watchtower, page 23-26
There it is again... the pot calling the kettle black. The WT and their elders are really good at doing that.

The 1914 Doctrine and The Threat of the Egibi Business Tablets
by VM44 incould the watchtower and the jehovah's witnesses survive the discarding of their 1914 doctrine?
the doctrine that in 1914 the end of the gentile times took place, jesus took up rule in heaven.
for some reason the jws think the outbreak of world war i in 1914 is proof their prophetic calculations were correct.

The WT "scholars" can preach whatever the hell they want to preach because the JW flock is not going to travel the world studying the facts or educate themselves in the most current discoveries of historical research.
The millions of common JWs believe because they trust the "spirit directed" FDS and have "faith" in Jehovah making the light of their spiritual truth "get brighter".

Read Matthew 22:30 in the NWT and then research the WT publications. That is where the JWs get the 'no marriage/sex in the resurrection' thing.

The WT better be "skilled at rebuilding quickly" because they're gonna need it when their b.s. comes crashing down on them.

I knew of some older pioneer sisters that would use the obituaries to do "letter witnessing." They would do research on the survivors listed in the obituary and send "comforting" letters to them. Easy way for those pioneers to accumulate a few extra hours on their service report. I never heard of any "good experiences" coming from it. Just a couple people who sent back a nasty reply.

Interesting topic Scully. I'm sure the WT will file a lawsuit.
