Smoking gun GB can’t get out of this one
by Mikejw inhere in 2022 if anyone says anything against the vaccines even a little bit you are almost apostate.. someone once mentioned all vaccinated sports stars collapsing and someone else said not to speak badly about the gb or by extension jehovah.. the gb can’t get out of this one, it’s gone too far.
it’s now the case that if you speak against the vaccines you are speaking against the gb and by extension jehovah .

Who really is the faithful and discreet slave?
by Fisherman in“who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?” — math 24:45. according to jw, the faithful and discreet slave are the “anointed” men of the “governing body” of the jehovah’s witnesses religion..

Ridiculous, yes, but also so very convenient when that single scripture enables a massive power grab over millions of followers.

"the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee, and all the high rolling merchants of the world weep at her demise" Rev 17 & 18
It is all just abstract fiction
WT should receive new light that the mysterious identity of "Babylon the Great" shifts & changes over time, just like wily "the king of the north"

Should laws be passed compelling the church to report crimes?
by Fisherman inif laws were passed compelling the church to report crimes to government authorities and there was no legal way around it and the church was forced to comply and did comply, nobody would confess their sins.
it wouldn’t stop people from committing crimes, they just wouldn’t tell their church about it.

Fishy, you hardly understand what your own topic is actually about... your arguments are all over the map.
You claim your topic "is about law", but then stray off into "nobody would confess their sins" and "some people don't like" which are religious, social and behavioral issues... not law.
Since you have thus far been stubbornly unreceptive to questions, critique and debate, myself and others here will gladly "kick rocks" and kick them all over your weak untenable premises.
Fish on, F'man.

Fisherman, it seems you may tend to post your thoughts as they come to your mind rather than debate with yourself a bit before commenting, similar to a personal journal/diary. There is nothing wrong with that style of writing, just remember this a forum, where publishing ones thoughts is inviting questions, debate, and even attack.
Over the years here I've been challenged and insulted. It can be stimulating, even helpful, intellectually and philosophically.
Joao, above, (thank you) is discerning and correct. I do disgree with the immediate implications of your opening post; however, some of your subsequent remarks evolved to be bit more sensible. Continue processing your thoughts, and please allow the forum to cross-examine. It can be a good thing.
It is like fishing... sometimes a fisher must adopt new tackle to improve success.

Curious how you defend your own questions yet insufferably evade questions directed to you elsewhere in this forum.
Maybe you should have become a priest instead of a fisherman.

Meeting attendance
by Benavidez ini was wondering what your guys' meeting attendance was like.
our meetings here is like 50/50 with zoom and in person.
the spanish has it a little "better" with it being like 30% zoom attendance with most attending in person.. i've heard of congregations in other states having attendance where most (even elders and ms) attend meeting only via zoom and even have their cameras off.

For ambitious JWs, when their status or "privileges" are involved, butts quickly meet seats.

@Fisherman... Seriously?
Are you playing devil's advocate, or are you just ignorant?
Perpetrators rarely self-report!
Victims, witnesses and whistleblowers very often DO report, and such reports are well outside of communications protected by clergy/penitent privilege. Therefore, serious accusations of criminality should be promptly forwarded to secular authorities for expert investigation.
Compelling the institutions to forward accusations of criminal behavior to prosecutorial authorities may deter false accusers, yet prompt an actual perpetrator to better cooperate with secular investigation.
A truly remorseful perpetrator willing to secretly confess to churchy officials should likewise be willing to face up to secular officials and the full force of law.
If a confessed perpetrator wants the church to shield him from secular prosecution, was it really a sincere confession?
Is a secret & shielded confession true remorse? No.
- Secret church confessions do not facilitate restitution for the victim(s)!
- Secret church confessions do not adequately protect society, nor prevent future victimisations.
- Secret church confessions do not force perpetrators into expert monitored rehab systems.
Any institution, religious or otherwise, receiving reports from victims, eyewitnesses or whistleblowers, particularly in regard to crimes upon vulnerable persons, should mandatorily forward such reports to secular enforcement authorities for further investigation/prosecution.
Whether or not a perp feels comfy confessing to some religious charlatan is irrelevant.

Starting September 01, 2022, the Angels will help in the ministry work
by RULES & REGULATIONS in2022 governing body update # 6. what exciting news david splane has for all jehovah's witnesses ( who for the last three years were spared the house-to-house preaching work ) '' that we'll return to the ministry september 01, 2022. just in time for our world wide campaign to start bible studies.
and, i'm sure the angels are excited too, because it will give them opportunities to help us with our ministry.''.
not only will the witnesses be rusty in their return to the field ministry, the angels in heaven have been sitting idle while the pandemic stopped the house-to-house ministry.

WT may also be looking to generate new "experiences" of how "Jehovah protects his people" while engaging in D2D/KH.
Or even looking for new video content of loyal JWs that courageously risked becoming covid martyrs "for the sake of the good news", just like WT does with blood transfusion martyrdom.
