  just a question, but how is it that you can post on a site with apostates on it when we all know if the society caught you that you would be reproved and shunned like us?

  also, don't you think it directly interferes with your relationship to jehovah to blatantly disregard counsel given that "bad associations spoil useful habits"?

  also, the society recommends that you shun us, so why aren't you?

  You never know what might be going on in someone's head.

  Exactly right. Shortly after I left, I found myself in forums (not this one) and usenet groups fiercely defending JW beliefs, even though I had no real reason to. I had some difficulty letting go of the notion that anyone who disagrees with the WTS is evil and ignorant, because this attitude was all I had ever known. Looking back, I don't think I really wanted to convert anyone, I just wanted answers to questions that had been bothering me for a long time.

  i found it very amusing the the prophets mentioned in heb.

  supposing.. you yourself had an accident .

  your friends called an ambulance which took you to the hospital,along with your severed arm & legs, as a practicing jehovahs witness would you be allowed to procede with an operation connecting your body parts back to yourself.,would you make the decision to go ahead with the operation or would you call in an elder to make the decision???????

  what do you think would persuade you to refuse the operation , or rather would you allow yourself to have a transplant.. .

  Help Men Feed on Christ The Living Bread/JOHN BEHEADED 5000 FED

  former jw kids, how did you survive the endless hours of meetings?

  when i was a kid the part of that kingdum song that goes "help men feed on christ the living bread" always made me think of some poor anthropomorphic slice of pumpernickel being devoured by people in dress clothes.

  ok, it still does.. another one that gave me a laugh was one of the by-lines at the top of the older nwt.

  I know this is odd thing to do, but in the back cover, count the men and then count pairs of feet.

  Yes, I was going to mention that too. I don't have the book anymore, but I think it was just an illusion, with the way they were standing. Funny though. Maybe the picture I was talking about is that same one, I'm not sure.

  There's also a funny picture in the book "The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" (can't remember which chapter) where Jesus is sitting on a rock, talking to his disciples or something. The way he's sitting, and the way his robe is hanging, it looks exactly like he's wearing bell-bottom flares.

  Another fun pastime we discovered was to go out to the garden before the meeting and catch about ten or twenty green tree frogs - these things were tiny, about half the size of your thumbnail - and then secretly let them all loose under the chair sometime during the meeting. They were small enough that they would go undetected until they actually jumped on someone.

  Inside the front cover of the song book, there is a large picture of some Israelite men, probably Levites, standing in a row singing. There's this one guy in particular who's really getting into it - he has his eyes closed, his mouth really wide open and his arms outstretched dramatically. We used to glue pictures of pizzas and Subway sandwiches onto the page between his hands... and, well, you get the idea.

  WT allows investing in Stock Market

  i don't know if this was brought up before but it looks like the watchtower doesn't consider investing in the stock market as gambling.

  i guess since they got caught investing in it, they had to come up with new light.

  I understand that in recent years the interest rate the Society charges has once again been reduced to 3%

  They charge interest on their loans to the congregations? Well now that is interesting.

  Maybe thats why they are so willing to kill themselves in suicide bombing missions.

  If presented with a choice between blowing oneself up with semtex or becoming a Jehovah's Witness, I wonder which option most people would take...?
