I have read other threads that have delt with this topic. One report I remember was from a guy who was on the society rebuild teams, and I remember him saying that it was the houses that had the insurance cheque that got preference. Very few uninsured houses were repaired. To turn around and say they were helping the needy is just "DISGUTING AND SICKENING"!!!!!!! The sad part about it is the majority of witnesses would have a clue of what is going on. SHAME ON YOU WTBTS!!!!!!!!!!

JWStruggle post: Bethel Layoffs Reveal a Kingdom without Clothes
by Londo111 inhttp://www.jwstruggle.com/2013/07/bethel-layoffs-reveal-a-kingdom-without-clothes/.
despite everything, i still have a lingering admiration toward those who serve or have served in bethel.
it is not that i believe it is gods organization in any way, shape, or form.

I was looking at one of the senior members of Bethel that was sold, and to be honest he looked like a bewildered and broken man. I think it had aged him as we'll. To be fair I have heard of some KH that have been built with apartments out the back for lay off victims. I bet even though the society shitted on them they still count it as a blessing that they were able to serve their for so many years, and even more blessed that they can now serve jehovah out in the field. Hey I'm just telling you the mind set.

Britain | Jehovah's Witnesses hushed up child sex scandal | July 16, 2013
by jwleaks inchurch officials hushed up a child sex scandal in their ranks and refused to co-operate with police.. .
jehovah witness ministerial servant gordon leighton admitted sexually abusing a child when he was confronted by his church elders, a court heard.. but during the official police investigation, the 53-year-old who made headlines in the 1990s when wife yvonne, 28, died after refusing a blood transfusion after childbirth on religious grounds denied any illegal wrongdoing.. and when detectives asked elders simon preyser, harry logan and david scott to make statements about the confession, all three refused and said what they had heard was confidential.. for three years, the elders refused to co-operate with the criminal investigation and kept up that stance when the case was brought before newcastle crown court after the victim made a complaint to police.. each was issued with a witness summons which they fought to overturn before being ordered to testify by judge penny moreland citing public interest.. their barrister richard daniels said the men had a duty to god not to breach confidence.. he added: privileged communication between members of the congregation and ministers is an absolute right and duty and there is no power in law to breach such a confidence.. judge moreland said: it is apparent that the three elders who were present when this conversation took place are in possession of relevant evidence as to a point which is of real significance in this case.. they claim the right of confidentiality, they claim that what they heard said by the defendant during the course of that meeting ought to be subject to privilege, as ministers of religion.. judge moreland refused to withdraw the summonses and said: public interest is clearly in favour of this evidence being given.. what was said by the defendant on that occasion is of great significance in the trial.. despite the judges ruling, the men still refused to make statements to police until just hours before they were called before the jury.. leighton, who has since been expelled from the church at lambton kingdom hall in washington, denied two charges of indecency with a child and seven of indecent assault.. he was yesterday found guilty of two charges of indecency with a child and six of indecent assault.
he was found not guilty of one indecent assault charge, on the direction of the judge.. he was remanded in custody until he is sentenced next month but warned he is facing a lengthy spell behind bars.. prosecutor katherine dunn told the court the victim, who is now an adult, broke her silence in 2009.. the court heard how at a special church meeting, leighton admitted sexual abuse and made excuses for his behaviour.. miss dunn said: the elders conducted their own investigation.

Why can't they go back to the old way of charging for the magazines
by joe134cd ini'm just curious, and i know i always end up with an answer.. but why can't the society go back to its old way of charging for the magazines.
i know this is probably easier said than done.
but if they were keeping a float in the past but are sinking now on the donation model, then is seems obvious charging for the mags was the better way to go.

I think you have all kind of missed the point. I realize it was the swagart case that made them go to the donation model. My question is why can't they return to it, and what would be the implications if they did. I mean just go back to the old way of charging, bite the bullet and pay the tax. At least that way they are going to be covering the costs for what they are printing. How much worse can things get, as they already are struggling to pay the bills. If I was them this is how I would be thinking.

Literature Display Stands... Turning JWs into stationary targets...
by Calebs Airplane inbecause of the membership retention issues that seem to continue getting worse, the watchtower corporation appears to be running out of ideas.
in the past, when the numbers have dropped (membership, fs hours, rag placements, money, etc.
) they always came up with a "hook" that would give them a boost until the next drop in numbers (i.e.

Where they need to be setting up literature stands is on the Internet because they get plenty of persecution there.

DID YOU KNOW the latest Brooklyn sell-offs will take total Watchtower earnings to $804 MILLION since 2004?
by cedars inhi folks.
i apologize if this is old news to some, but it's news to me.. i stumbled on a comprehensive list of all the sold properties on wikipedia on this link... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/watch_tower_bible_and_tract_society_of_pennsylvania#brooklyn_property_sales.
it's just a mind-boggling amount of money, and useful information to have handy when talking to witness relatives.

In my mind there are 3 things that are undeniable here. (1)they are cutting back(2)they are down sizeing(3)what ever has happend or is going on with all that cash flow, those in the know aint saying nothing. I was talking to a sister who is in the Brooklyn bethel at the moment, and I asked her directly if the society was in a bit of a financial tight spot. Although she hadn't heard anything from the top, the fact that she had knowledge about it, and was able to confirm that there were rumours going around about it, was very telling. I say the translation and simplification argument is just a hoax.

The Watchtower Society Cripples Their Own Preaching Work
by Nosferatu inif there's one scripture that defines the entire purpose of a jehovah's witness's existence, it's matthew 24:14.
"this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.".
this is the entire purpose of going door to door.

Brother of tHe hawlk=Well if the society is busy monitoring apostate sites, then it a bit hypocritical to tell the R&F not to. Good enough for them then good enough for the R&F.
I believe the only real way they are going to get away from the bad image they get on the Internet, is to allow more of the R&F to set up there own web site. So much so that there would be more +ve information than -ve, and they would drown the ex-JWs out. Inevitably a person who looks on the Internet has to see good testimony from an independent source. They just have to its as simple as that. I mean they go to all this trouble and expense, and finding different avenues of witnessing but for the one area where they are getting hit the hardest. To be honest when I went knocking on doors i sort of felt that it was a bit of a waste of time if they were going to get on the computer straight afterward. The society would have to be aware of this. They would just have to.

Another thing to. I didn't realize that lists of apostates existed on the Internet until now. There is always something new to learn.
