Why are they still going door to door?
by Euphemism inhey all, long time no see!.
a friend posted the anthony morris videos on facebook today, and the ensuing conversation got me wondering: why are the jws still going door-to-door in the developed world?.
it's clearly useless as an evangelizing tactic; the wt have recognized that for 20 years, with their "go where the people are" spiel, but they also insist that it's still necessary.. .

This subject intensity interests me, and is something I quite regularly bring up in my posts. When you consider that 2/3 of its youth is walking on them it puzzles me how an organization is prepared to spend billions of dollars and hours fruitlessly knocking on doors and yet not try and fix the problem at the other end. If the society was really serious about saving lives and reaching the masses, they would of been making full use of the Internet years ago, and would be embracing social networking now. I remember reading some where that face book has got something like a billion pluse subscribers, just think of the Hugh opportunity this would afford them. Like the Internet how the we're trashing it 19 years ago, soon they will have to back track on it and fully embrace social networking.

when the dust settles, it all comes down to blind faith in men's ever-changing ideas.
this "unique belief" was not a "true teaching of the bible.

Ok just to change the subject. Explain to me please. Why did 2 KHS in a small city have 4 refurbishments pluse a quickly built on them in the space of 10 years. The Halls in my opinion probably did need a revamp the 1st time but the 2nd refurbishments were unnecessary and a waste of money. Shortly after the 2nd refurbishment to one of the halls, this was quickly on sold and a new one built. So in the space of 10 years there have been 4 refurbishments and 1 quickly built, leaving roughly 400 publishers with a debt of well over a million dollars, to save for and pay off.
Why when the RBC deems these projects necessary, is no receipts or price justification is given. The elders of the cong can not shop around for best price either. The RBC basically comes in and says you are going to have a refurbishment, and this is how much you will pay, so get with the program or else. I will admit it isn't said like that but it's certainly implied. Why was it when a group of elders who refused a refurbishment, to their KH were then seen as been unfit to carry out there duties, we're removed as elders, and a court case ensued.
Why is it if I built a 1 million dollar home it would probably be perceived as been materialistic and not seeing the urgency of the end times. The society buildings however can be sold for a billion dollars and a new premises built for far less, occupying publishers time for 4 years when they could be making disciples (Mat 24; 14). Why would they not reveal to their members the price difference between the two ventures, but opt to likening it to the rebuilding work of Nehamiah time.
Why is it in the time of the end when the spiritual food is flowing from the mountain of jehovah and we are eating off well oiled dishes, are we in fact getting less printed spiritual food with reductions in assembly and meeting times.
Why in the magazines are they warning about the demonic lies in the media, and to stay clear of people who speculate, and yet not reveal what the speculation is, or give examples of Satan's cunning. Wouldn't it be better openly discuss these concerns with its members which would in turn squash these rumors.

The New Diary of Winston Smith
by WinstonSmith inwe had to go off grid for a time, time and half a time as we thought we had been outed.
fortunately it was a false alarm, but it was a stressful time.
i asked for my original diary thread to be deleted in case there could be anything on there to identlfy mrs smith and i. i am always very careful when posting, and am sure there was nothing on there, but felt it best to have it removed in order to be as cautious as a dove.

Bro I'm thinking of you and your situation. I should know because I'm in exactly the same situation as you. The only difference is I suffer in silence because of not wanting to get DF. I think word may be getting around about my situation, as I happened to say to internet friend "if he thought the society may of been having problems with cash flow". Now I noticed I have slowly but quietly been getting deleted. i will PM you.

in fact, the brothers talked to the folks at google, and they made a special arrangement so that when you type in 'j w period' into the google search engine, it automatically shows you the jw.org website.

Sounds like a total load of BS to me. You should do a bit of stirring and phone the bethel and have them up on this brothers comments. Of course giving this brothers full name. It would be interesting to see what they have to say about this.

Well ok I have just done it on my samsung phone. If you do "JW." In 1st place come up JW.org. In 6th place is jwfacts then it is only after scrolling to page 5 that the find the next apostate site e.g jwservey. This surprises me. I can imagine JW.org getting first place because of the traffic they would be getting. But to only have 2 other apostate sites in the next five pages. Something has happened.
BUT when you type "jehovahs witnesses/watchtower/sex abuse etc, and the first page is almost all apostate. Something has happened weather it be google or WT or both, I don't know.

Life for me as a jw (not really) teenager

i am 15, still going to school and i live in the uk.
a good chunk of my mum's side of the family are jws.

Duvanmuvan= please do not be like me. I spent decades in that organisation, and for most of that time felt that life was passing me by. I have only just recently left and am now having to rebuild a whole new life. When you are young you are more vibrant and resilient. Hey life on the outside can also be a rough passage as well. Honestly I wish that I had put my foot down at your age.
JWfacts = This is something I find confusing as well. You sort of gotta wonder were their priorities lay. I remember some one telling me ( and this was from a marketing perspective) "it takes 8 times more money and effort to find a new customer than what it takes to keep an existing customer happy". Yelling isn't it.

Well it appears something fishy is going on. When I type "JW." on my samsung phone there is nothing anti WT on the front page, and yet if I do the same thing on my iPad JWfacts comes up directly under JW.org. It appears freedom of speech can be brought with a price. Ok I accept that JW.org would get the most traffic so hence it's first position, but I would also say the anti- witness sites would also get a fair amount of traffic as well, so hence a couple of clicks away. I don't know how they have done it.
