Curious to know the Zoom attendance figures for for the memorial
by joe134cd ini’m just curious to know the local attendance figures for the memorial.
my father told me they had an attendance of 140. not flattering for a cong of 100 pubs.
i was sort of surprised at this considering the quarantine measures and everyone being forced to stay at home.

Obviously I was wrong. So, what was it like in your area.

Need help - How do you determine whether to show a JW the truth or not?
by AlainAlam inhow do you determine whether to show a jw the truth or not?.
now some of you still believe in the bible.
to you the answer would be obvious - we preach to anyone as much as possible.

This reminds me of a situation that happened locally, where a couple were DFed for apostasy. However, the problem occurred with looking after the unwell aged parents of the DFed couple. They were situated the closest to the parents, so if there was a medical alert they could be the first to render assistance. The concern was would the PIMI elder father notify them first if there was such an emergency, or would he opt for the other (none DFed JW) sibling, who was a 40 minute drive away. It was also of concern about the standard of care because the her brother and wife (care giver) now lived one and a third hour, round trip, away. It turned out to be very messy. All because of opening their mouth to the wrong people. It kind of makes me so angry that lawyer in Canada who argued in court that normal family relations remain in tact when member is DFed. I say BS to that.

I was just thinking of the judicial cases that I have heard on you tube. More often they have been the result of a comment such as “wt is a false prophet” to a PIMI recipient who didn’t take kindly to it. How much different things could of been if the JW had come to apostate and asked.
As is the case of my aged father. It is just more practical to keep my mouth shut for the sake of his physical/mental health. I also choose to refrain from revealing my true thoughts on the org to other members of the congregation, as it would also impact the type of care I can give him. For example I can take him to the hall, and they can come around and visit while I’m physically there with no problem. Been DFed, and particularly for apostasy, would just be an added complication I just don’t want to deal with.

I think attendance at this years memorial is going to be a bit of a flop. I over heard my father say that they had 140 in attendance. Not good figures for a congregation of around 100 publishers. I would of thought it would of been the other way around with people been forced to stay at home.

I am in this exact situation with my aged father. To be honest if he woke up, at his age, it would certainly kill him and I would deeply regret being the cause of this. This has also caused a bit of a love hate relationship with Wt. Don’t get me wrong, nothing would bring me more satisfaction to see the Tower burn to the ground. Then on the other hand I have to be pragmatic, in that it’s a support net work (be it conditional), and it occupies his day. If he was to walk out of the religion at his age he would be left with nothing. So in his case he is better off left ignorant, and I choose to keep him that way by keeping my mouth shut.
Now, on the other hand, if I was approached by my teenage JW relatives. I would certainly not hold back on telling them the facts. The are healthy enough and adaptable enough to make the shift into secular society. But I would certainly want to warn them of the dangers as well e.g unsavoury individuals, addiction, healthy sexual practice. So I guess weather or not to wake someone up can be a cruelty or a kindness.

3M Corporation-- You are Absolutely DISGUSTING - I hope you are sitting down when reading this

I think there has to be more naming and shaming of people who chose to behave like this. I hope the public reaction to this causes them to go out of business. I think for people who blatantly choose to disregard these quarantine measures they need to be photographed and put on national TV as an example for anybody else who wants to adopt their behaviour. As for 3M and their directors, I hope they rot in Hell.

I’ve just set up zoom for my elderly father. To be honest I found it totally impersonal. Nothing like face to face contact in real life

This Sucks: Every Day this pandamic goes on, PIMI wife is slipping further and further into the WT abyss
by goingthruthemotions inthere will be no hope that she will ever come out of the wt abyss.
her mind is so diluted with the cult, i.e.
the best life ever.

To be honest, and I don’t say this lightly, but some people are just better off left in the org. Unfortunately my father is one of them. I was trying to discuss with him regarding “zoom.” How Wt hasn’t always been this friendly toward this kind of technology, and that Jehovah’s spirit was at the Kingdom Hall. Similar to the temple in Jerusalem. He turned around and point blank told me “that Wt has never said that, and that has never been the case”. “OK Dad” was my reply.
To be fair it occupies his mind and keeps him busy, for which I’m great full. With out it, it would send him to an early grave.

My D.I.L. Works in a Pharmacy and gets abused by stupid people.
by smiddy3 inhi friends ,my d.i.l.
works in a pharmacy and looks after people who needs prescriptions and advice on health care products that patrons need .and the sad thing is with this covid19 virus seems to be bringing out the worst in too many people as more often than not she is getting abused and challenged for wearing what she and her workmates have to keep themselves and the public free from this virus.. there are notices all around the store telling people that they are out of certain items and cant supply them such as hand sanitizers ,face masks ,gloves ,personal disinfectant wipes etc, etc.and she gets abused because she has gloves on ,has a face mask on ,and has hand sanitizer that she can use and the customer says something like you have it why cant i get it ?.
in an abusive and challenging way and its getting her down.. she is getting tired of trying to tell the public she is their to help them and if she and her co-workers get sick the shop will close and nobody will get the help they need.. also they don`t respect the distance they need to keep from each other they lean over the counter with there hands touching everything trying to get in her face complaining.not only do they not appreciate they should only be in the store to get what they need and then get out ,they just treat it like any other normal day and browse around the shop picking up any and everything then putting it down again and buying items that are not necessary for their day to day existence .. i feel very sorry for her and all of the people doing like minded work , who are suffering under the same stress needlessly by unthinking uncaring people .. i just want to add she is a beautiful young lady who has a lovely caring personality and its a shame that she and others in her profession are subjected to this form of abuse.. note : this is happening in regional victoria australia.

I was absolutely shocked, the other night at the supermarket, when I to witnessed a similar incident. There were a couple in the isle having a full on domestic, with all the graphic words. I couldn’t wait to get out of there sooner. Unbelievable.
