The JW's greatest dogma...
by BoogerMan in....that god almighty/jesus personally selected j.f.
rutherford & wtbts inc. as a front for worldwide christianity, is an affront to worldwide christians.. the adage, “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence” was made for such spurious assertions.. as with jw's who claim, "jehovah answered my prayer for......," both claims rely on total credulity, and zero evidence of divine intervention.

Prediction of how Watchtower going to be in 5 Years.
by Foolednomore ini can see it that watchtower will become an online/tv based group with just con-vention hall$.. field service would be letter writing and phone preaching, door to door is done.. watchtower will have pay to view programs and still ask for donations after all that.. zoom meetings are here to stay.
kingdumb halls will be sold off except for con-vention venues, or need for new ones$.. df'ing will continue.
the craziness will continue.

In order for Jehovah's Witnesses to grow I would imagine a couple would have to have 4 children. Here's why 4 -
I’ve heard on ex-Mormon reddit that if it wasn’t for Mormon family’s consisting of 3 children or more. Then the Mormon church would be in free fall in the USA.
Despite what the Pew survey says, that everybody loves quoting. I would argue the Mormon church is fearing just as badly if not worse than the JWs.

Am I at the right place?
by AnotherJohn ini’m still a good christian.

Just because Pilate turned out to be a real Governor that happened to be alive around the time Jesus is said to have walked the Earth does not make the bible correct about every claim it makes.
I’m kind of a bit Gob - Smacked by the xjw community that says there is no historical or factual foundation for the bible.
What about the last ruling monarch of the Babylonian empire. Belshazzar who's father was Nabonidus. Something that wasn’t discovered until the 1860’s. Interestingly it was only in the book of Daniel that recorded this.

Does the WTS have a clergy class
by blondie inthis can be confusing because the wts has adjusted from not having a clergy class to not having a "paid" clergy class.. "a congregation of brothers precludes having a proud clergy class that honors itself with high-sounding titles and elevates itself above a laity" wt 6/1/2001 p. 12, pp 11. still same idea in 2021 wt october, p. 20, pp.
7, but 2022 in the wt publication, frequently asked questions about jehovah’s witnesses, page 13, the wts inserts "paid" in front of "clergy perhaps to shore up their current statement in secular courts they have clergy, just not paid) "following the model of first-century christianity, jehovah’s witnesses have no clergy-laity division.
all baptized witnesses are ordained ministers and share in the preaching and teaching work.

It kind of puts a smile on my face when I look back on it. I remember getting a stern telling off when I made a comparison of elders and priests, to an interested bible student. The clergy class back then were part of Babylon the great. Now they are not only part of Babylon the great but they do it voluntarily as the don’t get paid for it. Lol.
Evidently it was the lawyer admitting that they were a hierarchical religion in the Menlo Park case. That woke me up.

I am a former JW, who is also an active practicing christian. The theological term that you are looking for is called “eschatology.” This is based on the prophecies in Mathew 24 and 2 Timothy 3:1-3. I’m sure you will find an abundance of material if you google search this word. Unsurprisingly a lot of it does not fit the Wt narrative. I find it interesting that the JWs were not able to show you bible verses, considering they are an Adventist type group, who’s very foundation is based on this. It’s just there interpretation that I disagree with e.g 1914 etc.

I Found Some Extremely Rare Rutherford Recordings
by Nosferatu ini was blown away when i found these watchtower records with rutherford on them.
these aren't the ones that were used door to door.
these are 16 inch records that were sent to radio stations to broadcast rutherford over the airwaves.

Pimo's walking out
by Foolednomore inis it possible that jw's would get so worn out by watchtower 's bullshit that they would stand up gather their stuff and walk out of a meeting or a convention.
i can see a small number doing it..

Let’s just say that’s not the first report I’ve heard of the way Wt handled the twin tower incident. I think I remember hearing some Bethelites wanted to go and help out, but we’re told to stay where they were.
PIMOS walking out, in spectacular fashion. I wish it would happen more often, but in reality it’s rear. It certainly takes time for one to truly make their mind up. For me the process of learning TTATT, to physically walking out took about 18 months. Its coming up a decade now since I left. For my mental well-being and for the sake of believing family it was the right decision.

So are you hear by saying Simon. That secularism can enslave in another sense. Are JWs happier because the society they live in takes a negative approach to drug taking.
Wouldn’t the need for mind altering drugs lessen over time as person realises the freedom that secularism offered. The ability to make decisions for oneself. I guess we could use the example of Adam and Eve, if it is to be believed. Did freedom of thought or the ability to decide for ourselves of weather drug taking was a wise decision or not lead to a better world. We must decide for ourselves

Disillusioned jw- I refer to myself as a Christian freestyler in the sense that you were an independent thinker. Btw I am catholic by denomination, but my black and white JW thinking is not so defined. One thing that has interested me over the years is those that turn to substance abuse to cope. I guess the irony is that this new freedom in secularism just enslaves them some where else. Interestingly I had a conversation with a young person regarding this. He was afraid that he might be called into a JC when spotted by local JWs smoking cigarets. I told him if he was silly enough to take up smoking, then he’s silly enough to get DFed. He’s reply was F*^ck you. This reply was telling I’m my opinion.
