I to am wishing you all the best. However be warned if you do decide to go down this path. It could very well end up in a JC. Just be prepared

3 years in the making
by Judgerussellford inthursday while i was at work, a new elder stopped by the house (almost 3 years after fading) to encourage us to go back to meetings.
said everyone misses us.
if you did, why not stop by and say hi every now and then?

Investment departments in Bethel
by Mikejw ini was a bethelite in london for many years then got reassigned to the field and then went on brd from the start of chelmsford right upto covid.. during my years at the branch i was sometimes asked to be on a team who went to homes donated to the branch when some older one died.. this happenes an awful lot, everything is left to the branch in the will.
the unbelieving family is furious they didn’t get left anything and sometimes they tried to get their elderly relatives possessions and there was a legal battle .
but in the end a team of us would go and empty the property and another team would clean it up and put it on the market to sell it for the worldwide work.. all the possessions were sorted into trash or possibly valuable .

Interestingly I had a conversation the other day. With an elderly sister was going to see a lawyer about writing her disfellowshipped daughter out of her will. Ironically the person she was telling it to, is an apostate, who is worse than her daughter, so to speak. Certainly a loving organisation. Lol

An aspect of dealing with my elderly, PIMI, Father

I have tried, in years gone by, to wake him up and it’s failed miserably. I now have come to the conclusion it’s just best to let him be. It gives him a purpose, a community, and something to do. I Haven’t been to a meeting in over 10 years, and I’ve told him that I don’t agree with the religion. Tbh I really don’t care about making a statement to the JWs by DAing. I’m not knocking on doors or going to meetings, and thats good enough for me.

For a bit of back ground. I’m a full blown POMO Apostate. Nothing would please me more to see Wt burn to the ground. However, for the smooth running of caring for my PIMI, elderly father, I have chosen not to DA. Other than through my father I have no other contact with JWs, and have never voiced my opinion to them.
A couple weeks back my Father decided to have a few of his friends around. I was there. I just couldn’t help but think how much easier it is, less hassle, that I didn’t DA. Had a chat made them a cup of tea etc. Then on the other hand, I thought, would my father and his friends afford me the same leniency if I was open with my opinions.
Have I sold myself out? I probably have. Or am i playing the game to win, with regards to caring for my dad.

Recently I attended a friends church, where this very issue was brought up in the sermon. So this issue isn’t unique to the JWs. Btw it was a mainstream Pentecostal church.

Do you think the Watchtower is right about about eternal punishment of the wicked?
by Vanderhoven7 inatheists believe death is the end of personal existence.
but for those who believe there is life after death, what do you think is the nature of final punishment?
in other words do you agree with the atheists and the watchtower society or is there eternal ongoing conscious punishment awaiting the wicked.

Eternal torment I don’t know. But there are certainly winners and losers in the game of life e.g sheep & Goats etc. I think more along the lines of everlasting nothingness.

Interesting remark I overheard today. The physical attendance for the Sunday meeting, in my local area, was 10. I tried to find out those on zoom. I was told that the ZOOM attendees wasn’t mentioned. When I left almost a decade ago this congregation had about 120 publishers. There would be around 70-100 attendees for any given meeting. The KH had the capacity to fit way more than the 120 publishers. Now they are physically down to 10. I wonder how long it will be before this congregation is closed down and Kingdom Hall sold.
