I’ll tell you my story that highlights the irony of this. I was a young JW kid who decided to put up music posters, of the time. Harmless stuff really. One day my self righteous great uncle decided he was going to take issue with it and guilt tripped me into taking it down, which I did. Skip forward a few decades latter. My elder uncle has died and I go to pay his widowed wife a visit. Low and behold she has got a blown up photo of the governing body hanging on her wall. I questioned her about it, in an extremely tactful way. She couldn’t see a problem with it.

If you’re happy with your son leaving the cult. I would discourage this relationship for practical reasons. Also remember the natural attrition rate for born in JWs leaving the religion in latter life is 66%. So I’m guessing your son is well on his way.

Yes I certainly don’t believe his reasons were for age and health. There seems to be this ongoing consensus about the North Carolina / New York areas for his location. Amongst various posters on the internet.
For his safety I think it would be wise for his location to not be revealed. He’s certainly upset a lot of people, with the decisions he’s made. That would certainly have a score to settle. If I was him, security would certainly be high on my list of priorities.
He’s just too big of a fish to just sweep under the carpet. I think, some type of remuneration, was both the proper and wise thing to do. A rent free condo, a small allowance, and free health care, would be a fraction of the cost if he wrote a tell a book. If he’s happy then he’s quiet. I’m sure Wt is playing its cards carefully in how they handle him.

I personally witnessed a talk, given by a MS, early 20s, not married, about marriage and child rearing.
Another example of an early teens male, giving a No4 talk on masturbation. I remember sitting there just thinking, WTF where the brothers thinking when the assigned these talks.

The young elder topic made me think of this
by enoughisenough init somehow never set well with me that if a boy got baptized that his mother couldn't pray or hold a study with him or in his presence without a headcovering.
maybe some of you were baptized as a boy in the home...how did that make you feel?
( like knowing you had rank over your mom???

I feel the same attending the Catholic Church. Calling a priest ,who is a lot younger than me, Father. I guess it’s a sign of respect

Do Jehovah's Witnesses view faithfulness to Jehovah as being equivalent to faithfulness to the Governing Body?
by Vanderhoven7 ini thought this was an interesting response to the question.
"being faithful and loyal to god implies or includes.
being faithful to your spouse (hebrews 13:4),.

Yes I often get the same sentiments from my father “ how I’ve left Jehovah.” Try as hard as i can I can’t get him to see that I haven’t left Jehovah at all, but have left a publishing company. I digress.

My father does this. It keeps him occupied. He often comments to me about the hours he spends pioneering. I’m happy for him.

Predict JW life in future
by ExBethelitenowPIMA ina sister said the other day at the ministry group “”what is all this talk that the end is still some way off” she said she has been waiting for decades and she was told there is no way it would take this long.
some others said in an annoyed kind of way yes they would have made different decisions decades ago if they knew the end still would not have come by 2023.. how will the majority react in a few more decades time when the end still hasn’t come?.
why all that talk of sense of urgency decades ago?.
