  The August 2024 Watchtower controversy and potential further changes

  as an educated guess, the august 2024 watchtower may be delayed because 2 complicated subjects need to be discussed in this issue which haven't yet been approved to be included in the revised shepherding textbook.

  perhaps the revised shepherding textbook must be finalised before this watchtower is released publicly.. the 2 subjects may be as follows:.

  how to shepherd and appoint brothers based on the removal of the hour requirements, getting to know the brothers instead (does this mean prioritising appointing men who have auxiliary pioneered during the co visit and campaigns or men who are regular pioneers?).

  The point I was trying to make, wasn’t about weight gain or obesity. It was more about how people fail to realise that the restrictions forced upon them by a religious organisation, were there for a very good reason in the first place. Now that they are officially not under those restrictions, I guess, the principles of the law still apply. Often times with very serious consequences. Leaving a controlling religion is one thing, the body been the temple of God is quite another.

  As one person pointed out, people’s indifference to a Hellenistic lifestyle, was something that has come as a surprise to me since leaving. I think I’m more against drugs now, than what I was as a JW. I even voted against it at a referendum held in this country. At least superficially, it is still illegal to smoke Marijuana in this country. I’d hope it never gains legal recognition. This is a road, even though I have the freedom to do so, I never thought I’d go down.

  I want to illustrate my point about where many X-JWs go wrong.

  To illustrate, imagine a morbidly obese person goes on a calorie restricted diet. Subsequently he loses the excess calories and his health improves. Time passes, he now reasons;I’ve now unshackled the chains of my former life. Although I enjoy better health now, I found the restrictions of the diet to be a burdensome one. Now that I’m no longer dieting I can go back to my former ways. Surly, such reasoning would have to be seriously flawed for a couple of reasons:

  Did the person fail to distinguish the difference between been on a diet; or the principles of avoiding eating high fat sugary foods.

  Did he think that officially not been on a diet now gave him free range to all the fatty sugary foods.

  Or did he simply fail to appreciate that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction to his eating patterns. Something that probably would have been at the heart of the matter.

  Keeping this in mind. I recently read a post on reddit that was titled “what’s the most exciting thing you have done since leaving the JWs.” Where by he listed using the pages of the NWT to smoke weed with his GF, as been exciting. Now I’m all for saving money on cigarette papers, and surprisingly , in light of Proverbs 13:20, I actually encouraged his behaviour. But like the obese person. Have the lines become blurred between a diet and a life style. Although he has left the restrictions of a diet has he returned to the fatty/sugary food. We must all decide for ourselves.

  there was on older white-haired circuit overseer in houston around 1989 or 1990. last name started with a w i think.... not sure though.

  even the most brain-dead robotic elders told me he was offensive.

  Hans Hubler was a total narcissistic arse. I’m surprised it took Wt so long to remove him before they did. I heard Wt was eventually forced to do something, when he was transferred to the pacific islands / French Polynesia. Only DO I know where he was removed.

  The Mormon church is not more successful than the JWs. I’d be brave enough to say that the JWs may have a bigger more engaged membership.

  tbh I belong to a few PIMI JW communities on face book. I think it’s a lot more open than it used to be. I see photos of some very attractive young people in halls / carts. If these photos are to be believed, I wonder why, or what, the hell they are doing there. I sort of get the idea the photos are more designed for partner hunting rather than theocratic activities. If that’s the case then good on them.

  Even in biblical times. No body ever had complete control. Moses was the mediator between God and the nation of Israel. Yet Moses couldn’t carry out the priestly duties, a responsibility reserved for Aaron. David was a king yet it was Samuel who appointed him, and Nathan who held him accountable for his indiscretion with Bathsheba. There were good kings with bad prophets and bad prophets with good kings, and when god saw necessary he even went out side the nation of Israel. The Persian ruler Cyrus is called his appointed one, and Jobe had no affiliation to the nation of Israel at all. In fact he was Asian.

  on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.

  a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.

  in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

  I saw an unofficial video of Freddie a few years before he died, from someone who had visited bethel. The thing that really stood out in my mind, so much so that I still remember it. Was for a frail old man, how mentally sharp he was. He must of been in his 90’s at the time and as sharp as a razor. Could quote the bible and give an in-depth discussion, explanation of it. Incredible really.

  Falling asleep can also be the result of alcohol intoxication. To keep it so tightly covered means that only a few people at the top, only know the reasons. If Tony wrote a book it would cause them some serious problems. This has to br a concern not only concerning Tony, but also that other guy who got his marching orders a few months back.
