I just can't see this. How can more halls will be needed when less people are attending. They are selling up and merging. Weird unless Wt has got something else up their sleeve. That statement just makes no sense and until I see something concert, I find it hard to believe.

WATCHTOWER IN A PANIC!
by JW GoneBad injws are in need of more kingdom halls in many major u.s. cities.
at this years agm where it is expected that most of the faithful will be able to listen to the meeting (being tied in by video), dont be surprised if the wts 8 gb members take part in a symposium delivering some long winded appeal, petition, plea, proposal, proposition, solicitation or otherwise hit-on the masses for $$$ in order to lighten the burden and overuse that many kingdom halls are experiencing.
an acquaintance from the west coast mentioned to me that in late august thru early september of this year that a number of pow-wows involving close to 5,000 elders from numerous areas (riverside, los angeles, ventura and orange counties) took place to drum up financial support from the 800+ (not sure) congregations in those areas.

Ray Franz blamed for 1975 false prophecy
by EndofMysteries ini was raised a jw and as a kid my family made brief mention of apostates in bethel that falsely prophecied about 1975 and were kicked out of bethel.
i was shocked after i got out and learned that him being removed had absolutely nothing to do with 1975. i think that partial lie spread is what kept my relatives in.
1975 a big let down/false prophecy, then they are told that a governing body member and many in bethel are found apostate and cleaned out, etc.

In all the decades I was going to meetings, although I was familiar with the 1975 debacle, I had never heard of Ray Franz. I vaguely remembering hearing about a cleaning out in bethel although I never knew who was involved. I found CoC a fascinating book and insightful into the inner workings of the GB. What astounds me is just what I didn't know.

I live in one of the countries where the Bethel was closed. Even when I used to visit, I remember thinking to myself, why on earth do they need such a big premises when in reality all it was is a distribution point for literature. At the time I was working at a distribution point for a secular company that was servicing the whole of the country and it was no where near the size of the Bethel. I believe we were more busy to. Another thing that stuck in my mind on one of my Bethel visits. I remember been meet at the reception area and seeing a lady removing stamps off envelopes, and been told the reason behind it was because they could on sell the stamps to collectors. I thought it unusual that someone would have to go to these lengths to make a buck. Now I know why. I think they have been loosing money on these dispendable Bethels for some time, it only now that it's all coming out. I really feel sorry for the people who devoted most of their lives to bethel service. I saw one of them a few months back and be honest he looked like a broken man.

What is happening in Mexico?
by ILoveTTATT ini have heard that a lot of the english congregations in mexico are shutting down... they are condensing 5 congregations into one, or in some areas even disbanding the only english congregation.
jw's who have been living in mexico for many years and probably were sheltered by being in the english congregations will now have to move to spanish congregations.... .

It's funny. I heard about this scandal a few years ago. I briefly meet the main man that was involved in the scandal. Him and his wife were living in South Auckland at the time. I remember been surprised at the time when I was told what he had been up to in Fiji because they were such nice people. If he was up to no good he certainly wasn't a wealthy man. I'm guessing he would probably be dead now, and haven't seen them in years. Really nice couple.

And the amazing thing about this all is that the R&F have just got totally no idea of what is going on, and if they start to speculate and tell others they will get their arses kicked for it. Unbelievable.
