hello forum,.

i'm new here and not sure where to post.

so, i'm 21 years old and currently a baptized witness, however, i'm slowly making my mind up to leave and here's why.. first, there are certain things that make no sense to me in the organization.

I find myself parroting this every couple of weeks. It just amazes me how an organization will spend billions of dollars and countless man hours trying to get a new member and yet will do virtually nothing to retain that same member. Here is a post I made on this topic.

at the close of yesterdays meeting, an older brother gave the prayer.

Yes I remember a time when the internet was literally a tool of Satan, full of apostates wanting to entrap the R&F. I even remember a recent assembly part with the theme " occupying our time with unnessary gadgets" (or something to that effect) where it was mentioned that these gadgets were occupying our time that could be used in serving Jehovah. I even remember been given council when I gave a bible reading from a print out of the Nwt. My what a reversal. The thing that I find rather thoughtless is the burden that is now been placed on the R&F to now have to pony up to buy these gadgets. For a family of 5 even for the cheapest tablets you are looking at a couple hundred bucks.

Make no mistake. There is no way this video could of been made and put on the net with out the magnificent 7 at least having known about it and giving it the all clear. There is little doubt of this in my mind. Now if there is a negative reaction to this video by the R&F and because the GB cannot be directly implicated in giving it the ok. They can easily turn around declare a DMCA take down and blame the disobedient disloyal bethelite for running ahead of the chariot. Well that's what I think.

I accept that many of the people who do contribute don't actually care. I agree that most of the complaints come from those looking at the WTS with a critical eye.

I totally agree with this comment. When I first become aware how mother was getting ownership of the halls, I made some enquiries with an elder to see if such a thing had happened locally. The elder reply just flawed me really. " yeah there was something like that but I don't like to get to involved in those sorts of thing". I thought you total F/wit have you got any idea of what you have just done when you and the other elders collectively signed on the dotted line because you didn't want to get to involved. The guy was totally oblivious.

This kind of upsets me a bit, to think what I missed out on on my youth with dancing to now find out at age 40 that there was nothing wrong with it in the first place.

my mom called me yesterday to ask how i was doing.

i hadn't seen her in a while, so it was nice to hear her voice.

we went through the motions of jw small talk and then she started telling me about her co visit from last week.

Joking= the new form of worship will be the building of flag polls to hang the national flag on lol.

Juan= I can see what you are saying. In this country they built some large impressive halls, in some real dead end towns, that clearly in my opinion didn't have enough going for it to support a building of that size. One in particular I can think of has since been closed down and sold off.

Is Watchtowers view & practices currently split in two? Split leadership direction?

i've been deeply following jw "culture" the last 2 years and i am getting the impression that the leadership is currently split in two different directions.

on one hand you get this sense of a happy, joyful and less strict religion and on the other hand there is still this strict, harsh religion of the past.

let me explain more.. there have been a lot of video's lately that show dancing in kingdom halls, bethel dancing to the "happy" song, jw.org downplaying their beliefs and making it sound like daisies.

I don't think so much split. I think it's more that the old guard has now died and so has their ideas. It was the rutherfords, Knores, and the franzes, who where the ones that were not going to change, and there weren't the external factors around to necessitate change e.g the internet. Clearly they had to do something or it would be shut up shop.

I remember when I first saw this. I was in such disbelief that I labeled it BS. A set up by some vindictive apostate.
