About the women thing. I read somewhere it wasn’t until Knorr took over that the religion become more sex focused and less catholic focused.

Do we have "original" indipendent documents proving that Rutherford was an alcoholic?
by psyco ini was wondering if you could prove with "original" independent documents that rutherford was an alcoholic.... .
i read penton, but since he is a former jw he could not be considered an independent source.... .

Who is this Guy?
by Slidin Fast inthe ra is underway and there is a common thread through the first day.
they have a "presenter" who comes across as an educated historian handling early bible fragments and translations as if he knows what he's doing.
the impression given is that he is an unassailable font of all knowledge, with his rich scottish accent he prints himself as across as professor gravitas.. i find this disturbing, we have no idea who he is or what if any his qualifications are to speak such with authority.

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

Apart from their data base of sex offenders, this has to be one of the best kept secrets in Wt history. It’s only a handful of people at the very top who know what really happened. I think his fall out started with the bottlegate video. It certainly wasn’t a good look.

Silent Buddha - just curious but have you tried knocking on his door. I’m guessing you could make excuses, making a delivery, mormons etc.

Yesterday's Public Talk: '' Reject Worldly Fantasies, Pursue Kingdom Realities''
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy brother ( an elder ) calls me every time he's assigned a public talk.
he believes listening to zoom meetings is a great start, to eventually attending in-person meetings.
the talk is titled : '' reject worldly fantasies, pursue kingdom realities.

Omg I’ve been gone 11 years and I remember that talk. It’s all coming flooding back right before bed time.

Consequences for actions. A high fat / sugary diet
by joe134cd ini want to illustrate my point about where many x-jws go wrong.
to illustrate, imagine a morbidly obese person goes on a calorie restricted diet.
subsequently he loses the excess calories and his health improves.

There are still very much consequences, for poor life choices both inside and outside the organisation. When people don’t seperate the difference between the two they head for problems.

All that I can say is I keep my body free of anything that could damage it. Particularly in younger posters, been out of a religion that restricts behaviour, is quite different to thinking those restrictions still don’t apply. I have a relative, who thought that restrictions no longer applied to him outside the religion. He’s now homeless and addicted to Meth. Leaving as a 40+ year old, because he doesn’t believe in 8 men. Is different to an 18 yo who sees greener pastors.

My friend, I never implied that just because a diet is beneficial that all diets are beneficial. In fact some can be dangerous and deadly. It’s the point at which balance sits. I guess the ying and the Yang, the Tai and the chi, or what harmony is there between Christ and Belial. Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever. True there are horny obese JWs , and horny obese ex-JWs. Is this more to do with with been in a restrictive group or failing to realise the principles of the body been a temple.
For example, when I left the religion, I was in my mid 40s, and I left purely because as a vote of no confidence in the GB. Hence, my life both in and outside of this religion has relatively been the same. This confuses my JW relatives, as to the choices I make. When really it shouldn’t, because I still adhere to the principles of the diet. I believe the reasons and the age a person leaves greatly affects later outcomes .

I guess although all things may be legal, but not all things are advantageous. Smoking is one of them. The JWs to their credit have some very good ideas. For example it saves me hassle and money at Christmas time. It also has some bad ideas e.g shunning, blood.
When a person fails to recognise that although we are no longer under the law, but the principles of the law. They can get into some very serious problems. Particularly in younger posters, been PIMO. I honestly wonder if it’s more to do with a smorgasbord of high fat sugary foods, than realising the benefits of resisting it.

The August 2024 Watchtower controversy and potential further changes
by ukpimo inas an educated guess, the august 2024 watchtower may be delayed because 2 complicated subjects need to be discussed in this issue which haven't yet been approved to be included in the revised shepherding textbook.
perhaps the revised shepherding textbook must be finalised before this watchtower is released publicly.. the 2 subjects may be as follows:.
how to shepherd and appoint brothers based on the removal of the hour requirements, getting to know the brothers instead (does this mean prioritising appointing men who have auxiliary pioneered during the co visit and campaigns or men who are regular pioneers?).
