I am horrible at measuring self worth on It's a Wonderful Life it says you are wealthy if you have friends. Well, that makes me penniless. I have my kids, hubby and granddaughter but my side of the family acts like I don't exist.I just started college I can't look at my work as Wow! I got a B or I missed only 2 I beat myself up over it not being an A or why did I miss 2. I don't know if I will ever heal,

PS I believed until I was 11 (really I remember always being so damn disappointed every Chritmas morning as a JW)LOL My sister (the evil one) decided she would tell me on Christmas eve I was shattered. I cried all night and then I got her I ignored her and continued to believe. Despite many faults my parents were THE BEST Santa's ever, they never let me find the gifts. THey always used different paper the expensive shiny stuff with bows and ribbons and such and even wrote different and of course ate the cookies and milk. YEA MOM AND DAD

JW causing more grief over my Dad's death Sat.

my jw sister is causing problems with my dad's death this past saturday..she is down in florida, where my parents live, went there on a pleasure trip to begin with, then our dad passed (as i wrote) unexpectedly..now, she is pressuring my mom to have a viewing and a 'talk' by some jw's and my mom does not want this..my sister is one of those 'double life' jw's..she says unkind things about me behind my back, re: my illness(as my mom has told me), but she has been 'engaged' for 4 yrs.to a 'worldly guy' and we all know they sleep together, etc.,then she turns around and acts like she's miss spirituality..for her to do what she's doing now, well i don't know what to do..i want my mom and dad's wishes to be #1, and for her to try and pressure my mom into a service, also without giving me a chance to be there, well i'm not feeling too good at this point..thank you all so much for your replies, e-mails and love..don't know what i would do without you guys.

I am sorry to hear you lost your father. I do know that sisters like that come in all forms of control freaks, my Mother has alzheimer's she has always doted on my sister that was the druggie, sex fiend weirdo <GO FIGURE> well now they diagnosed Mom with Lymphoma my idiot sister wants her to do chemo etc. WHY, she has one incurable illness ya know why make her suffer her last few moments of lucidity. I wish I had the answers for you, if you can get a hold of some strong support people to back your Mom it might help your Mom get her wishes met. I wish I could say talk to your sister but just like with mine they are the type that feel they have all the answers and you never will. Just know that your father is at Peace and that you know what is right she has to live with herself in the end. Just try to protect your Mom.
Also on the stroke my Mom was taking aspirin, there is a medical research linking strokes in WOMEN to asprin, they should take baby aspirin instead. My Mom started taking the baby aspirin and the mini strokes stopped.

This article is so biased it DEPENDS on the situation,
1.What if someone breaks in a woman has children in the other room and she is scared of them being harmed?
2.What if there is more than one rapist or they tell you if you scream they will kill you?
3.What if your to DAMN scared to scream?
ERRRRRRRRRR this is ridiculous there are woman that have been saved by not screaming and being able to talk to the person, one woman that did that was raped repeatedly but she was a survivor and you know what he had KILLED ever other woman he raped!!!

Some will go back
by JH ini would like to know how many people here are thinking of going back to the hall if the elders go and visit them.
we had stories of people telling the elders that they had enough and wanted to get out.
on the other hand, i am sure a few will go back, but we will not hear their stories as much because they fear the reaction of this board.

Jehovah's Witnesses Should Show An Identity Card

and the whole theme was that jw's should wear an identity card so that everyone would know who they were.we should feel happy that by our merely voicing our position as jw's, that everyone knows what we are and who we stand for.
we should be happy to make a stand and sit down for the flag salute, to show we won't worship it.

Hmmmm didn't Hitler already do this tactic. Control is what it's about, I'm sure this will help their being able to locate those that stand for the pledge etc.
My question is this, say this starts as a "good" thing just like "everything" does with the JW's at what point will they start DF and DA those that don't comply. Nothing they do is ever of "your own concious" because I have seen too many times those people shunned for following it.
