  well, i panicked, i prepared and had excuses ready.

  strategies and contingency plans up and running.

  i have been awaiting, nay willing my "inactive persons' shepherding call" (whatever) and it hasn't happened yet!.

  been looking around for a while and have posted a few times but said nothing real significant.

  well, anyway, i thought it was about time i said "hi and it's good to meet you all".

  like many of you, i too have a story but not ready to share it yet, as i have two beautiful daughters trapped in the borg and i'd hate to do anything to jeopardize my relationship with them, you never know who lurks around or am i being paranoid!

  hmmm so many times so little space: I guess the WORST was when I miscarried our third child no calls,no visits nothing but when I went to the next meeting (still in shock and very ill) no one offered any support but did ask WHEN I WOULD BE IN SERVICE NEXT LOL That was the ultimate for me

  Good/Bad Associates

  i have seen a lot about the wt teaching on being careful about one's associates.. i feel that i am discerning enough to know what a good or a bad associate for me would be.

  i try to be kind to all and keep my judgements fo myself (yes, i judge as to with whom i will associate or whether or not what someone does is something i wish to participate in or be associated with.).

  i teach my son to be selective as to his associates.

  This issue has many gray areas my husband and I worked with a man that was UNBELIEVABLE I could go on and on about his lifestyle choices but all his "associates" took advantage of him. He respected me and my husband he made my husband the General Manager and I was the Office Manager, one time a person that worked for him lit up a joint ( I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A NERD LOL) and he was aghast and yelled at them Mr. Toke King himself he respected me enough to be appalled and when he decided to leave that line of work he sold the whole business to my hubbie for $1.00. I could site many other examples .

  But the witnesses that act so holier than thou the things I found out made me freak, one woman back east who wouldn't let her kids "watch anything violent" well my hubbie was working at his house and she was acting like she was a nut (and no the normal motherly headspinning routine)

  See we were always bad association because of service and meetings because we <GASP> had to support our children I know it's horrible we didn't have any vices and were purer than ivory snow but hey "bad associations spoil useful habits" Pardon me while I urp

  Elder Says That We Must Guard Association W/ Bros.

  2 elders mentioned in their parts in the tms and sm, that just because a person is a witness, it doesn't mean that they they are acceptable association.

  if someone misses a lot of meetings, rarely goes out in field service and is not the best example, we should not want to associate with such ones.

  i clearly see a line being drawn in the sand.

  just watched an episode of 80s sitcom 'married with children', al & peggy get mixed up with a gay couple, fairly funny stuff!

  anyhoo.... there's a neat scene were al, answering his front door, says to himself 'i hope it's a jw cuz i feel like a nice deep chat' (or something like that) & he picks up a baseball bat as he opens the door!!

  like i said, fairly funny stuff, but it got me thinking: what other tv shows/movies feature scenes with (or ref to) jws???

  OHMYGD! I was just shocked( I was always a naive girl) at the nerve of such a shmucK little old ladys are eating cat food because of there $1.00 a day contibution.

  Funny with all that money he has a Nasty HAIRCUT LOL My husband kept saying "his hair look at his hair" LOL I said errr Chris he is reeming millions of people and all you can focus on is his hair. Now that is life with an Italian man "my HAR don toch my Har LOL

  I can't believe that Jim Baker was brought down but this jerk is still going strong. I know the faith my Granny is devout Pentecostal tongues, healing etc. Which I find weird my GGranny died giving testimony of God's spirit in her life, I would think that my Granny after seeing her Mom die in CHURCH would have said hmmmmm maybe not for me but NO

  I couldn't believe he had the nerve to solicit funds for a orphanage that DOESN'T exist GEEESH LOUISE!!!! I am now donations to the "Fill my pocket by New Year's fund" should anyone wish to contribute contact me, I promise you nothing but a smile while I spend the money and some humourous postings (err maybe)
