by teejay incan someone point me in the direction of a couple (or five) jw discussion boards?
you know where real jws post their mind-numbing thoughts about how terrible the world (and "worldly" people) are and how great it will be when armageddon comes to destroy the wicked?
i'd like for some of my workmates to see what their loving jw neighbors really think about them.

I'm hosting a Memorial for a friend
by RAYZORBLADE inhi folks, in a little over a week, i am hosting a memorial.
it is for a friend of mine that passed away suddenly just a couple of days before new years 2003. he suffered a brain aneurysm.
we were to celebrate his 38th birthday, just a week later.

First time caller, long time lurker

not that i feel i have much to add, but did want to extend my appreciation for much of the information and insight i have received from many of the posters here.. i suppose some brief synopsis of my story should be forthcoming.
its very similar to many of stories i have read here.. was raised in the truth ,third generation on both sides.

Secular Humanism is a religion. So if you were brought up thinking you were free from any organized religion, think again.Since the day you started school you have been spoonfed a Humanistic religion wether you liked it or not. Once you got home from school you probably,If you were like me, sat yourself down in front of the t.v.and year after year was brainwashed into the hollywood religion. Well, thats just my opinion.

Thanks Gamaliel for responding and clearing that up. I guess I was just wondering why Eve would have used the name Jehovah, when wasn't it in Exodus when God told Moses what His name was.

I am responding to the statement that Eve was the first person to use God's name. In my Bible Eve uses the word Lord and not Jehovah. The jw bible is the only one that uses that name and also adds it in the New Testament when it doesn't even appear in the original greek.

Six million people mislead?
by ikhandi ini have done a little research since joining this board and honestly believe that jehovahs witnesses fit in the cult category.
however what i don't understand if this is not the so called true religion as most of you have expressed how do you figure six million were mislead into believing it is the only true religion?
i mean this is not like the heaven's gate cult or the infamous jonestown cult who had very little followers in comparison with jehovahs witnesses.

I disagree with Dan the Man. I have been an evangelical Christian for 15 years and attended over 8 different churches from menonite to pentecostal and have never felt controlled or stifled in any way. Just had to add my two bits. Thanks.
