SO: yes, "fell away" is a good example of an old witness term and cliche.

"fade" Is this term or other "apostate" vocab being used in talks by JW's?
by Thechickennest ini am picking up a whole new set of terms, abreviations, etc.
from this forum.
with the number of increasing active jw's veiwing and using this forum i was wondering if this new language is making its way back into talks, meeting parts, preaching work or other areas in the social lives of current jw's?.

JWD- Some of the Best Supportive Discussion I've Seen
by flipper init certainly is a diverse board we have here , isn't it ?
we all come from different backgrounds, walks of life, and had different experiences in growing up as children into adolescence.
so it should suffice to say, that we will all have a variety of takes on various issues that come up on the board.

Simon: Its a great place to be able to come to. You are making a difference in life to many folks that have left...and this place helps those trapped in to cope each and everyday. Good job! Thank you!

What am I going to say?....I can speak to total strangers about most anything, I can speak in front of a large group, I can sell absolutey anything, I have a great wife that I snatched away from the cult, I made a lot of decent friends, I have learned humility to a point, I can use the bible...I don't know what for but I can operate the pages and find things, Oh the list is endless!
Having said all that, I am glad its over.

Maybe some folks still in and active could answer this question. Thank you!

Have u found friendships w/ worldy people be hard?
by blkblk13 inso, i'm embarking on slow fade and i think it's time for me to start making friends w/ some non-jdubs so that i'll have a support network once i decide to be completely out and everyone ive ever known abandons me.
ive always gotten along much better w/ wordly people than jdubs so i'll haveno problem securing friends but im concerned about being to keep them.. i want out of the org for various reasons but i must admit i still believe many of the teachings.
i just think the leadership and organization itself is corrupt.

Friendships be it with JW's or non JW's take a little bit of work to keep them on track. As was mentioned by someone on this thread, you have to stop sizing people up so to speak. JW's have an agenda....often times they pigion hole people into catagories, acceptable, unacceptable, etc. That has to stop. You just have to go with your gut instincts and excise reasonable judgement. The holidays and birthdays and all of that stuff will fall into place in time. Just be careful to not judge your new friends to harshly by using the x-ray vision of the JW microscope. Get involved in a service organization such as Lion's International or something like that. Make some new common ground to serve as a platform to building freindships in your new life. Forget about all the JW teachings, most of them serve nothing more than to suck the life out of you.

The Pioneer Spirit
by WTWizard inyou have heard it if you have ever been in a kingdumb hell.
they talk about the pioneer spirit.
it is supposed to be joyful.

Thanks for your candid observations. It put a whole new light on what I thought was the "pioneer spirit".
I thought is was about having more than willing attitude to go out in the service, be positive, be productive, be supportive, yada, yada.
I have had good days and not so good days working with Pioneers. One day when I was in service, I being about a whole two years in the lie, I was going with a pioneer brother in service in a small NW Wyoming town that was heavily Morman territory. This one lady at the door took Bro. Pioneer to task about something, I don't recall the issue. What was hilarious was, that Bro. Pioneer started to argue with her and it ended up being almost a yelling match. It was one of those first out the gate calls....when we got back the car this brother apoligized to me for his outburst. I never forgot it. He was made an Elder a short time later! LOL. No harm done to the Holy Spirit in that appointment!

Have you ever been able to get over extreme fear? How?
by snarf ini have an anxiety problem as it is, but i am passing out scared of riding motorcycles!
my hubby, a biker through and through, loves them and with the rising cost of gas, and his need to drive 45 miles each way to a job 3 days a week and us trying to cut back, we decided it was a good time for him to fulfill his dream, so he bought a beautiful motorcycle that any biker would be proud to own, problem is, he really wants me to hop on the back and join him for a cruise on the open road.
i have tried to "make" myself get on and succeeded once.

I agree with Milligal, I have read about "flooding"
I have been riding since I was 12 years old. Sounds like your husband has good judgement. Once you get past the fear I think you will really come to enjoy riding, its very addictive.
