by Thechickennest inthursday, i boarded a propeler driven airplane at the rapid city sd airport thursday with about 75 other unfortunate passengers.
had a bumpy flight all the way to denver that ended with the worst landing i have ever experienced.
changed flights there.

I bought a truck I found on Ebay in Phoenix. I nearly got killed in a lime green Crown Vic Taxi Cab in Phoenix. The driver took a wrong turn and made a uturn on a busy street with on coming traffic. I thought I was on my way to the bigger JW forum! Anyway, I purchased the truck and spent the rest of Thursday and yesterday driving it home to the Black Hills of SD. Great truck, long trip in a short time. 1300 miles.

I had to really think about this...my own thread...geez. It was my wife's brothers funeral in Phillip SD. in 2000 or 01. A great young man in his prime with a new baby and lovely wife. Died trimming trees for the big bucks needed to support his pioneering. His bucket truck collapsed....the rest was sad. My wife and I were shocked at the shunning of their disfellowshipped father at the funeral.....even at this time the asshole JW's seen fit to mistreat the dead young mans father. Unforgiveable. That was the end for us.

Self -Employed or Otherwise Gainfully Employed - Gas Prices Eating You Up?
by flipper inlast night at the gas pump i had a verbal , emotional outburst , swearing to no one in particular - just the gas pump , until i saw 2 guys at the island down from me - so i figured i'd let it rip !
frustration over these insanely rising gas prices finally took it's toll on even -keeled mr. flipper !
i started my rant , wanting these guys feedback , " what is it with these #ucking gas prices ?

I live in a part of the States where the nearest shopping centers are almost 100 miles one way. I own three fuel effecient vehicles. I am gainfully employeed since getting my college degree. I am not going to complain about the price of fuel. I still think we are getting a bargain at $4.00. I am thankful that we can still buy gas at any price.

I don't think the JW's give a single thought to how intrusive, aggressive, distatesful, willful and wanton, and otherwise how the JWism policy of shunning is when put in to practice. I am sure the Lord finds this practice wanting for true worship at the very least. Last evening on this board an individual was informed by her mother that her daughter should DA from the JW's with the thought of keeping the organization clean! This lady wants her daughter to give her proper permission to start shunning her. What kind of Zelots would try incourage this type of worship in the name of God?

I agree. Taking the stance of a silent one may be best. It may be a protection to the caller since they are obviously reaching out to a person they should not be talking to according to the rules of JWism. The rules of JWism do not apply to us since Mrs.Chickennest and I are no longer practicing JWism. It's like ones still in the organization of JWism really end up shunning themselves by picking the scissors and cutting themselves out the picture. The JWism shunning policy then becomes a one way street leading back the practicing JW. Perhaps, one day the Society of JWism will see the error of their ways with the shunning policy, until then this particular incident is a kind of cat and mouse game.

I think that everyone we have known from past days is surely well aware that we dropped our identification as JW's. We are not bitter minded apostates out trying to convert everyone we have ever known in the organization. We consider many of the people we left behind as life long friends and at the end of the day if there is God that is just and caring we will be on speaking terms again someday. I think the caller knew of our resignation from the witnesses before the call was placed-just a guess of course.
