Looking back about four years ago......when I last spoke with brother elder....a good friend of mine that called us to see what was up....I have to say I don't really think they gave a damn what happened to us. Sad but true. Was kind of sad considering we contributed 25 years for me and, a life time for my wife to the JW cause.

Faders: When You Left, did Anyone Give a Damn?
by shamus100 init seems funny to hear how some get love bombed, others get left alone when they fade.
i moved and told nobody - by the time they figured i was 'weak', it was too late - i was gone.
so honestly, what was it like for you when you left the 'organization'?

food shortages
by chicken little inany of you been told by the jws that the current food crisis is fulfillment of the revelation prophecy of the horsemen?
they are really talking about it now and how a days wage is worth nothing.
you heard similar things?.

Food shortages. Not where I'm from. Even with the high cost of petroleum products worldwide people seem to still be eating even, if its a little less.

Hi Rose,
Welcome. Glad you recovered from cancer.
My father-in-law was disfellowshipped in 1974. Along with some of his inactive son's and daughter's he still thinks like a JW.
It really sounds like your husband might be ready to make an objective examination of some things that you both have held as important in your lives.
People that have experienced some extreme hardship and sickness like you have... truly have come into a whole different outlook on life. I think you probably appreciate life and humanity more than the average person. These experiances really make organizations like the WT seem pretty transparent.
Good Luck and Godspeed Rose!

i'm not as strong as I seem.. .what would you say?
by New light for you inhey gang.... can we be a gang?
that would be a fun "anit-witness" thing to do ... but more to the subject...... i realize that saturday at our elders meeting we're gonna give them our da letter.
this is damn emotional stuff.

Are you sure you are ready to give it up? It almost sounds like you have some inroads to travel before making your departure. Setting your emotions aside, are you up to the shunning? There are worse things than being one of Jehovah's Witnesses.....and this decision that you are having to make so quickly can be put off for a while. Maybe you can do your friends and family more good by being a fake witness for a while longer. Honestly, JW's are ruthless when given permission to stomp on you.

Were you forced to resign from your church before getting baptized a JW?
by Thechickennest ininterestingly, after i left the witnesses after 25 years, i found out that i was still a member of our local methodist church!
i just picked up and went on again as a methodist......i never resigned.
does this mean that technically i was never really was a jw because i did not resign from my church before getting baptized as jw?

I didn't know we had so many pharmacists on this board! LOL. Start doing the happy dance girl because you are about to start living life as it should be! Exit counseling by a professional would be great if you can arrange it.

wearing very comfortable clothes after each day of the District Assembly
by asilentone insuppose a jw decided to change clothes to very comfortable clothes after each day at the district assembly, how would the elders react?

Hill: I think you are correct....JW's are looking to recruit insane people! That is what you would have to be to be impressed by these crazy folks that claim to have all the answers about life or be damned.

I am still thinking about this topic! This policy on dress at the DC's really torques my biscuits! If I have this correct.....There should be actual documentable experiences of people who are going to, or have become a JW because they seen the JW's decked out in their sunday best outfits after a convention in their city??? Usually in the summer its a thousand degrees by four or five oclock after the sessions let out, and it is supposed to impress the average non-JW citizen that JW folks are running all over town in their dress clothes???? and, from making this observation they have dropped everything they have ever known about humanity and studied, and changed their entire way of life to become a JW? because JW's dress up in a business suit costume after a convention??? Any JW that has not had reason to leave the WT for any other reason, should have left the organization in droves over this crazy policy! Talk about a controlling cult!

I had no idea about the new policy, it's just wrong! I have been away longer than I thought....being out of this organization looks better and better each day.
