I honestly don't know why I spent almost 30 years living this lie about the end. Personally, I never thought we could know if and when there was going to be an end. I never expressed that personal idea to anyone when I was in. Yet, I hung on for years in the belief that there was something better to come. The only thing better to come was my exit from the lie! I am humiliated that I believed in some form of this idea that the end was close for too damn long...and I went door to door with this stupid message! Yikes!

Sister dies (?) at DC
by DoomVoyager inno, this is not a joke.
having actually managed to survive through the entire 3 grueling days of the dc after attending the friday session today (hit sat and sun last weekend) i was initially going to make a criticism of some of the parts & points at the dc.
however, something that i witnessed today changed my mind.

1.) Servants could not have HBO or other movie channels.
2.) Could'nt buy or leave in tact the Ram emblem on a Chrysler product vehicle.
3.) Couldn't be in sales of used cars because it was kind of like gambling.
4.) Only servants could have a key to the Kingdom Hall.
5.) Congregation would not furnish a diaper changing table in the mens room because changing diapers was considered womens work!
6.) Can't bend both knees at the same time when dancing.

JW's unwritten dress code and personal appearance standards-FROM WHERE?
by Thechickennest inone thing that always use to puzzle me was the personal appearance standards, espessially for meetings and service.
the men always were expected to where a tie, suit, jacket, etc.
no beards were allowed-mustaches were ok!

by milligal ini grew up a witness and i never felt bad about my lack of material belongings a.k.a.
not having nice clothes in school, it didn't bother me that the other first graders were stuffing their faces with birthday cupcakes and i was in the school library researching fossils; but what did bother me?

It has been interesting to read the comments in this post. While all of us spent various amounts of time in the organization and we all took away some life skills that we could use witness, or post witness......what the sad part is we got a raw deal in trade for those life skills. Some of us lost so many years in the organization that we have come out the other side middle-aged and old-aged. The chance for some of us to learn a new trade or get a degree is limited by our life expectancy post witness. One other thing....I don't care how much good we brought out with us from the organization, the organization is not the ideal place to learn life skills. We came from an organization that hides pedophiles, lies to its captives, breaks promises, treats people that dare to have an independant thoughts like Hitler treated his opposers, that in his opinion they were not entitled to have a life. Let's not give the JW organization too much credit!
