has anyone ever figured out what the cost is to be an average active jw?

i am thinking of the jw costume of clothes for the whole family & drycleaning.

the four door sedans, the fuel, repairs, and auto cleaning up costs after running a shuttle service at least serveral times a week.

Its a free country. I really think you should put all your Watchtower eggs in one basket and guard them with your life. Its great that you are a happy camper in the WT world however, the facts show that many have heeded the direction of the ones taking the lead in the WT organization and have not completed any strategic plans in personal way for the future. They have gave all. They gave their lives promoting some old men's dreams. They gave of their assets and life energy. They gave life blood so to speak. They transfused the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society with the very life energy from their bodies. The Watchtower sucks the life out of you. Someday you might wake up and feel a litte anemic due to handing over your life to a business, a corporate publishing company that wrecks familys and lives. I wish you the best.

Has anyone ever figured out what the cost is to be an average active JW? I am thinking of the JW costume of clothes for the whole family & drycleaning. The four door sedans, the fuel, repairs, and auto cleaning up costs after running a shuttle service at least serveral times a week. The purchase of literature to pay for twice, the contributions to the various funds of the WT corporations, the therapist's bills, the prozac, the legal costs, The missed work to pioneer in one form or another, The travel, lodging and food costs to the conventions every few months, etc.

The list really never ends. Its no wonder the WT society frowns on its members having pets, taking part in recreation, and generally just having their fingers pointed at you all the time about how you spend your money and time. It takes so damn much money to just support the cost of doing business as a peddler and representative of the Watchtower!

The cost is thousands of dollars per year per family. Would it not only be fair to have a breakdown of the costs in the many publications used to brainwash people to inform new recruits about the money part?

Big JW mutiny in the Vancouver BC area!!

well this year'a assembly is over and the dubs in the vancouver bc area are mad at the gb.

about 100.000 dubs had to travel all the way to kamloops bc about a 300 mile drive one way!!.

i have heard that that each dub had to shell out $500 bucks and more for food and lodging just to hear some druel about scolio.

I've been out too long.....what the hell is scolio?

While living is SW South Dakota my family and hundreds of other witnesses always had to drive at least 300-400 miles to a convention. They used to be four or five days long. 20 years ago it was easy to spend $500.00 making the haul to the District Convention every Summer. Living close to an assembly out here was only a dream to never come true. Glad its all in the past.

Pets and the Watchtower

my cars cheap cd player is on repeat playing track 9, bob dylan singing tomorrow night during my hour long commute to a job not suitable for a 58 yr old man.

returning home the same tune plays just short of distortion, a funeral dirge for wessie.. tomorrow night.

will it just be another memory, .

Sorry for your loss. Your dog sounded like a wonderful pet. It makes my heart warm to hear about you keeping your son, that's great! Post Watchtower we adopted a cat from the animal shelter, then about three years ago we aquired a little dog, a Skip-A-Pom. I can't really imagine life without either one of these loving critters. The companship for our only child has been immeasurable (is that a word?) We are empty nesters now with our child off to college this Fall. The pets are looking awful good these days! they miss our daughter though. It is pure craziness that the WT has to have their noses into every aspect of our lives, even our pets for cryin out loud! It's just sick!

well, i got a letter today from some jw relativesmy aunt and uncle.

i must admit to feeling a mixture of conflicting emotions about it.

on the one hand, i know they are genuine and good people and have always helped my family and been friends through good times and bad.

JD: Nothing like the JW relatives to jerk your head around. File the letter and once in a while when you are feeling nostalgic take it out and read it. It's amazing how much guilt a person can accumulate with our background in the JW world. You will need to reread the letter once in a while to regain your mental balance. It will feel good to remind yourself why the JW stuff just did not work for you anymore.....I guess it must feel a bit of good to know that your relatives cared enough to think about you, even if was tainted in JW things. My wife and I have not heard word one from our JW relatives in over a decade however, that is a good thing in many respects. Enough said, well....and you thought your response was complex!

Not only do I vote I ran for office and won! I served as a city councilman for two years. Now, I have been ask by the States Attorney to be a Republican Ward Chairman.....why stop at just voting?

When are the New Pioneer rules being announced.

i heard that the changes to reg pioneers are going down to 50 hrs,.

the aux pioneers are changing to 35 as well, but when is this all to start.

What does this say for all the ones that used to put in hundreds of hours every month for years? I think I would be pissed off. I know I will be seeing less of the Witnesses counting their driving time to my town!

I have not been to WT study in at least 10 years. Now, I see nothing has changed! Same old turds polished up one more time!
