  Prepare for meetings??

  do you prepare for meetings?

  if i go i spend a few minutes underlinging my books/watchtower.. i have noticed that those who do the micks especially notice when your stuff is not underlined, and comments are made after the meeting, not so gentle hints, about study and preperation!

  in other words i am being told off, its usually the ones who are highly critical of everything i do, sometimes their whole family seems to be straining to see if my stuff is underlined, i know this because i heard the daughter to family wisper her watchtower is not underlined!.

  I wld usually underline while the paragraphs were being read. Sometimes I wld spend the first 5 or 10 minutes of the wt underlining the whole lot. I never read the questions, just underlined whatever... And when I was really bored I wld underline the follow study.... And the nxt one...

  well,i have been lurking here for a couple of years.

  i was babtized at 16 for all of the wrong reasons and when i moved out after highschool i really never looked back, although i suppose i always thought it was the truth.

  at 36 i met the love of my life.

  Have you ever scared the crap out of someone?

  the recent thread about "supernatural" experiences helped me to remember the times i enjoyed playing frightening pranks on people.. example #1: years ago the employees at a place i worked for had a 40th birthday party for one of the women we worked with.

  it was a typical "somber and dark" humorous party with black balloons, black candles on the birthday cake... all meant to suggest that at 40 ife as you know it is just about over.

  it's funny, but 25 years after my 40th birthday i'm yearning for those days when things were better.. ...but i digress.

  many friends i've spoken with are becoming discouraged.

  because of this it's becoming tempting to privately share my views with friends, but i know this is still too dangerous.

  most witnesses in my circle are intelligent free thinkers.

  I was talking to a close jw friend of mine recently, both her & her husband are now inactive. I think her words say it all: 'the "truth" is not what it used to be, too many changes have made it too confusing & I don't know what they believe, or what I'm supposed to believe anymore". I told her I remember years ago when I aux pioneered, we were telling people that the generation that saw 1914 would see the end do this system, but they recently changed that to the overlapping generations which makes no sense at all. She agreed with me...
