My mom (in Europe) think it's fantastic, even though I explain to her how it's just nonsense. I remember in the 80's how she told us kids how there's less than 10 years left before Harma is happening. She's so out of it and it's so clear this is just a lifestyle to her, not a matter of "truth". She's a follower of men, not God, and this is the ultimate proof. I'm giving up. -

Do US JWs Still Knock on Doors?
by cultBgone inthis may sound like a silly question, but do jws even door-knock any more?
the few i know only speak of "manning the cart" at some public location, and because they get defensive if i even ask an innocent question like this i thought i'd ask it on the forum.
thanks!.

I've lived here at my place now since summer of 2011 and they've only been here once, but they didn't knock on my door. I heard someone sticking something to my door knob and then went down the stairs. When I opened up it was an invitation to the memorial. I thought that was odd, since my door was the only one getting it. I've also once got a handwritten invitation in my mailbox.
When I ask my JW mom (she lives I Europe, I live in the states since many years) she says they're still going D2D. But it sounds like she's traveling far from her home to do so, like taking 2 hour trips to go out to remote archipelago islands to knock on a few doors and make it into more of a scenic picnic trip for fun. Not like it was before when I was young and still lived at home and she was knocking on my classmates doors and embarrassed the living s*it out of me. Or was handing out magazines in the subway rush traffic.

I just wrote to one of the largest newspapers in Sweden, "Aftonbladet", to its tip line and asked them to write about this. The other newspaper doesn't reach most of Sweden since its local, most swedes lives in Stockholm, like my JW mom. The "Extrabladet" is Danish. If Aftonbladet writes about this it would be a major blow to the Swedish Watchtower and my mom would read it for sure. I've been telling her about Candice Conti etc, but she doesn't believe me. I can't link anything to her since she can't navigate her tablet anywhere else but to the JW dot org and she can't read English either. I think as this progresses the "Aftonbladet" newspaper will write about it. Especially if elders gets sentenced to jail. -

Bill Cosby - too much smoke for no fire?
by Simon init seems like the list of people who are accusing him of rape and sexual assault is growing every day.
i'm skeptical of single accusations but the number of people and the similar stories seem overwhelming now.. it's not a conviction but to the court of public opinion ... guilty?.

DJS, I wanted to click on the Cosby text but I accidentally clicked "dislike" and I can't seem to remove it? I don't dislike your post at all. All I wanted to do was read about Bill confessing. Sorry. :( -

They're looking for a mother figure? And rumor has it that older women are wilder "where it counts", who knows. -

Crisis of Consience market price (we are in a bull market)
by NewYork44M ini was considering getting another copy of one of ray's books and was shocked about the market value.
is ray's book worth $1,000?
perhaps, but it is a bit shocking.

I bought it on Amazon last year November for only $11.05, the 3rd edition, 2nd printing 2000. I do consider it a goldmine, but of insider info. And I'm using it to witness to my severely brainwashed mom.

If you found out TTATT at 80 and spent your entire life at Bethel, what would you do?
by John Aquila inwould you do a ray franz deal and write a book or keep quiet and live out the rest of your life in bethel?.
would you keep reading the watchtower magazine?.

I would probably ask Jesus for forgiveness, get to know Him and then rejoice I finally found the real truth before I died.
At that age most family and friends are gone anyways, so I wouldn't be scared of shunning.

I'm 110% sure they do monitor all anti-JW sites. That's the only reason they're having this "be more like Jesus" convention this summer. -

Anointed, Crazy, Overzealous, or Good Acting?
by Tenacious ini don't believe for a second that the wts can be god's chosen organization, if he does have an earthly one, especially one with such a hypocritical past.
but the question begs; why are there people professing having the heavenly calling usually found in the wts?.
does anyone know or have heard of other denominations having the genuine heavenly calling?.

I've always wondered why, if one believes in God, wouldn't you want to be with God. Right where he is. I mean, wherever that is, it must be pretty fantastic. Anything that's good enough for God must be crazy awesome for us? Also, wouldn't you want to see God? Who doesn't wish to ever see or be close to ones Father?
The GB are just those wolves in sheeps clothing the bible talks about, that will try to close the heavens for everyone else.
