So would the picture be enough to be classified as clarifying this old teaching?

Goatshapeddemons mention of Chess being banned by JW's at one time was a new one to me. It got me thinking. They never corrected that did they? There hasn't been 'new light' on the subject? So technically it still is banned. As well as the countless other ridiculous opinion based articles that have never been given the 'new light' treatment.
So would this (technically) be considered a current teaching?
And here is an excert from the Walsh trial that kind of illustrates my point:
Q. How does one now joining Jehovah's Witnesses, and reading this erroneous view of Judge Rutherford's know that it is now regarded as erroneous? ?
A. Because he keeps up with the latest expositions and the latest publications in bound book form.Q. But there is no latest or recent publication of the Society which brings to the notice of the Witnesses that that view held by Judge Rutherford is wrong?
A. The explanations given show that there is a different understanding of the matter to-day.Q. Where upon that particular point does the adherent to the society find any enlightenment?
A. In the publications that he reads.Q. Must he read all of them to arrive at the fact that upon this one point Judge Rutherford was in error?
A. It isn't necessary for him to read that Judge Rutherford is in error on that point. What he is interested in is in the present truth, the up-to-date truth.Q. Yesterday's errors cease to be published do they?
A. Yes, we correct ourselves.Q. But not always expressly?
A. We correct ourselves as it becomes due to make a correction, and if anything is under study we make no statement of it until we are certain.Oh well maybe whether chess is evil or not has just been under study these last 40 years - my mistake. I'm sure we'll have some new light about it before long.
ps. Does anyone have a copy of the entire Chess article they could post up here? -

Couple other interesting DC tidbits...
by goatshapeddemon in1) they're going to stop producing the wt publications index "because its hard to maintain and translate".
so they're going to create a digital-only research tool on jw.org .
it's like, how convenient and smart.

"we believe in education, but we believe in the highEST education, like what you can get at the Bible School for Christian Couples, higher education isn't enough for us"
I bet he was chuffed coming up with a catchphrase like that.

I used to be a window washer, cleaner, laborour for far too many years. The problem isn't with the job (it can be a good job) the problem is not progressing and bettering yourself.
After a few years I grew to hate window cleaning and was miserable cleaning other peoples shit from toilet bowls.
I'm not saying I felt it was beneath me, I learnt plenty of lessons in humility from doing those jobs - but I knew inside me that after about a year I had 'outgrown' the job - I knew that I had talents and skills that I could improve and do a job that fulfilled me creatively or whatnot (not to mention earn more money). But nope - cleaning up peoples shit till armageddon arrives.
I'd in fact recommend people to be a cleaner, or window cleaner or whatever to begin with. The difference being - MOVE ON. PROGRESS. Whether that means turn it into your own business, or get a degree in something you really enjoy. FULFIL your potential!
I'm currently studying. (and cleaning peoples shit part time to pay the bills)
Sorry for the rant - Geret Loschs talk set something off in me.

Gerrit Loesch was at our DC today!
by goatshapeddemon inso, unexpectedly, the final talk was announced today and to my surprise and evil glee, they announced gerrit loesch as the speaker!
first off, at the beginning of his talk, he interrupted himself in the middle of his sentence to scold the microphone brother to lower my mike it's right in my face.. anyway, it was the talk on inspired truth, vs. inspired falsehoods.
he went through 6 expressions inspired by the demons.

if you can get the audio uploaded somewhere I'm sure everyone here would appreciate it.
The pedophile thing is probably mentioned in case JW's catch a whiff of the details of the Conti lawsuit. They can remember "Oh yeh pedophiles can be forgiven, so the Watchtower were right to give Kendrick a second chance."
Assholes.

Just a note on number 4. I'm not sure if I'm reading it wrong, but an expression inspired by demons = "Higher education has nothing wrong with it because it is a concience matter".
Correct me if wrong, but isn't this the 'written' stance on higher education (in case they get pinned down) they say it is a concience matter (and then expound on the evils of higher education in talks and not so subtle innuendo).
So if the Watchtower says it is a concience matter, and Gerret says that that expression is inspired by demons... fill in the blanks.

Just a question to the OP. Have you read "Origin of the Species." or any books by Richard Dawkins? (not trying to be a dick, just wondering)
"The Magic of Reality" is pretty good. Yet to read "The greatest show on earth."
