  jesus seemed to believe in the story of noah's flood.

  i wonder if god really drowned millions of people like the bible says for simply eating and drinking and not taking any note?

  Did Jehovah destroy millions with a flood in Noah's day? To keep it simple: Yes, all flesh was destroyed (for many reasons). Mankind, simply because they failed to get their act together, because of sin, and because none wished to repent and change their ways, etc... Another big reason for this destruction was to kill the Nephilim which were the offspring of Angels breeding with human women. Jehovah forbids many of the angels that took human form from leaving this state and these specific angels also died in the so-called flood.

  
  

  Is it just me, or does the cult-of-the-war-god-Jehovah, make Satan look like some little girls fairy godmother?

  As a bright star requires a dark background, making one person more divine, necessitates divinity to be subtracted and reduced everywhere else in the universe. An extremely high price to pay to have a personal little deity.

  Anyone Feel This Way?

  i am married to a christian who believes that anytime now true believers in christ will be raptured up to heaven; every time the news shows things going on in the middle east my husband gets all excited and talks about how he doesn't want to be left behind.

  after being involved for years in the jdubs and having nightmares of armageddon and all that, i feel happy just living my day-to-day existence and not worrying about my 'afterlife'.. in fact, i could care less about the afterlife and whether i go to heaven or hell; partly because no one really knows what's going to happen to me when i die.

  the only thing i care about in my life is being a good mom to my kids, nothing else matters to me besides enjoying each day i have here right now on this earth--enjoying time with friends and family, vacations to disneyland, visiting the ocean or the snow.. i feel annoyed when my spouse starts talking about his beliefs, because i just feel so ambivilent toward the future.

  Yes, dear Paduan. The statement was a general one, and I was looking most at western religions when I said it. Certainly Zen and Taoism tend to place emphasis on the reality of the present. Yet, I don't see these as so much of a religion as a way of being. They offer not much, if any, storyline and beliefs, but rather place appreciation and focus on life now.

  The message was don't live for the pleasure of the moment, for the ephemeral but for the long term objectives of the spirit and the kingdom.

  What is more real and actual than the present moment of life and existence, right here, right now? How deep does this moment go? Why reduce and separate what is ultimately significant ("God"), to some abstract idea we call "the spirit and the kingdom"? Why continually diminish and minimise the divine to some thing or place other than the life in and around us right now? Why limit God to time and space?

  I suggest that if we are actually open and meet with the truth and reality of life -- rather than wandering lost in the stories and beliefs of the mind -- there would be no need to make God into something so tiny and circumscribed as to not be present.

  Why is it that some people so desperately want to reduce the divine to the little deity(s) described within the pages of the Bible?

  Certainly if there is a true Source to this wondrous and vast universe, it has to be infinitely more than the wrathful man-god defined within scripture. Or do I just hold that from which all life flows to too high a regard?

  Yes, I understand.

  Religion generally reduces and defines significance to some other thing, place or time; and in so doing steals away the present moment of being, the only actuality and reality that has ever been. It's insane really, and it's sad to so many caught up in it.

  Yes, if Jesus did indeed exist, then it seems his message was one of love and of an unconditional brotherhood and unity that we often miss.

  However, Christians have generally turned Jesus into a crowbar, a tool of division and disunity which splits the world into those who accept my deity and will be rewarded, and those who do not accept my deity and so will pay some form of dreadful price. This, is not love, but rather devious manipulation.

  Please stop looking at the minute details of 9/11. Did Bush allow it? Did he cause it? Was the fire hot enough to collapse the bldg? Was it really the pancake effect? Was it flimsy construction? etc....blah blah blah.... None of this matters folks!

  The real issue is MUCH BIGGER than this. You don't have to believe this if you don't want. The unfolding of history will tell the tale. The NWO is emerging in front of our very eyes as we bicker and argue about the petty details.

  Please don't condemn people for looking at some of the "minute details". There may be some very big things going on. All the more reason to start small and allow the mind and emotions to process it.

  One of the biggest problems with 9/11 exposure is there are a lot fanatics (read: "nut-cakes") around it: which does not motivate people to re-look at things, but rather motivates them to shake their head, blindly accept the official story and walk away.

  JT, take a look at the picture someone posted above, and think about how incredibly much weight from the remaining floors slammed violently into the floors below as the buildings fell.

  Yes, there must have been incredible amounts of pressure as thing fell. I believe the Mechanics Illustrated article said that the huge blasts of horizontal dust and debris was from the air between floors compressed like when you slap your hand together. This compression-theory implies the top falling stories hitting a solid -- and what should have been in a fire-only- situation -- uncompromized structure that should have cause great resistance. Perhaps not enough to withstand the fall, but resistance nonetheless. Resistance that should slow thing down. Remember the damage to the structure was only on a few floors. The remainder of the buildings were intact and healthy...or should have been. These were some of the strongest buildings ever constructed; and made to withstand the tremendous stresses of earthquakes, high winds, and even multiple plane crashes. Every steel beam was designed and erected to keep the damn things standing and reaching for the sky.

  Yet, on that day, three buildings act as if they have no supporting steal beams and shown no resistance to falling at all. They exploded to the ground basically as fast as a safe would if pushed off the top.

  Again, I'm no engineer, or physicist. I don't know what the hell happened. I just know that as I allow myself to watch the tapes of this devastating tragedy again it is very clear to me that things don't look right and are extremely odd. Things do not happen as I might expect. The top floors, before there is any inertia established, don't just begin to slowly fall and crumble into the floors below in a chaotic way from intermittent structure failures...they violently and symmetrically explode all the way around the building and continue this perfect display of uniform collapse all the way down....and in not just one building, but THREE.

  It's too, too weird. Six. Yet, if you add in precision demolitions, then there is nothing weird at all, everything goes exactly as you would expect.

  I'm no conspiracy theorist, and I generally look for the good in people and ignore the bad. What I am seeing, is the last thing I would have expected to see. Perhaps I'm crazy, but I am going to look closer and not just sit back and accept the official explanation anymore. There's a lot more to this story.

  I'm no "conspiracy buff"; and have just recently allowed myself to look again at 9/11. Doing so honestly and openly, and trying not to allow emotions to cloud my vision.

  There they are, after the planes have hit, the two towers with scattered fires on some of their upper stories.

  I don't see the first tower crumble and fall, so much as symmetrically explode in free fall to the earth. Same with the second tower. Twins into death.

  Building 7, is 47 stories tall. hours later it too undergoes a perfect symmetrical structure failure which allows it too to free fall to the earth on it's own footprint.

  All three building fall through their own steel and concrete at basically the same speed as if they fell through clear air. Seems odd this can happen without total and uniform disintegration of the structural integrity and components leading the fall all the way down. I'm no structural engineer. I could be wrong. It just seems that meticulously crafted and rigorous steel and concrete structures should act differently than air.

  All I know is what I see: If these were some other building which were planned and executed precision demolitions, the contractors could not hope for a more perfect job than what happened not once, but three times on 9/11. Strange how on every other day of the year takes months of expert planning and complicated science to make happen, on 9/11 accident and chaos pulls it all off just as well.

  I'm not certain what happened. I'm still looking at the whole thing. But so far, I'm not at all liking what I see. The way the buildings fall is only some of what's odd; there are many confusing pieces that seem to come together only if I consider outside the official explanation. At times my mind wants to shut down and walk away; and my emotions just want to breakdown and cry.

  It's not for the weak of heart to re-expose yourself to this event and be open to what it may have to say. I'm not telling anyone what to believe. Just saying the wise thing to do may be to look again -- when ever you feel you are able to do that.
