  Dear Biblereader,

  What I feel you are no getting here, is that just because people find the diminutive Bible interpretation of "God" to be inadequate and vile, does not mean they do not have a love for the Divine. In fact the very opposite may be true. I for one stopped reading the Bible because I could not accept it's limited little deity as the true Source of an infinite universe. I knew that our real Source and Sustenance, must be far greater still.

  That you find solace in the Bible god, so be it. Just don't think all the rest of us are God-hating fools because we don't.

  Peace to you, dear; and again I have no desire to offend you.

  Dear Given,

  She cares for a dissabled husband and I'm sure what keeps her going is the thought of this great reward of life on earth in paradise and on and on. I don't know if I should take that from her.

  There really is no problem here, is there. Looking at what you have written, it seems fairly clear that you do know what to do. Trust your heart and listen to your own wisdom. Often times the best action, is no action.

  Be patient. Be kind. Don't attempt to take away your dear mothers hope of paradise until you have something better to offer her. Let her be, and focus on your own education and enlightenment.

  Who are we to check the hand of the Most High, we are so finite and dont understand hardly anything in the end, very small minds.

  Speaking of "small minds", why can you not see that we are not questioning the true Source of an infinite universe, but rather the extremely small and moronic deity presented within the pages of the Bible. WHO ARE YOU to belittle and shrink God to a foolish little anthropomorphic dirty??????? WHO ARE YOU to unquestionably accept and worship such a retarded concept???? Wake the hell up!!!

  LOVE is only acheived when you no longer worship a God of ANGER

  So true. Great agony to the soul upon placing as "The Most High", a god of war, murder, and anger. Desert tribal gods may have had a valid use at one time, but not today. Not today. j

  Sounds like a painful and sincere: ode to Jehovah. If there ever was a healthy reason for a flare-up of angry hatred, it is at awakening to the oppressive and poisonous stone we once had hung around our necks. Bitter elixirs are known to sooth and heal wounds.

  Is depression unique to exjw's? Is it religion in general that causes it?

  i have noticed a large number of topics are about depression, some of mine included.. do you think that having been in the borg and losing lifelong friends and family because you no longer buy into their interpretation, is unique to jw's or do most other religions play these mind games?.

  i was born a jw and never knew anything else because my parents shelter from everything but for other reason.

  from the time i can remember my dad beat my mom.

  I need some kind of beleif system or faith in something.

  I do not have any new beliefs to offer you. Perhaps when and if you tire of beliefs, you and I can discuss that. In the mean time, others here will likely have some beliefs that they feel will give comfort.

  where is god?

  ok, ive been trying to work out this one for a while, so please just put up with me if i make no sense whatsover..... over nearly the last year or so i havnt been to any meetings at all, i realised that all things jw is a big money making lie that is destroying peoples lives.

  after leaving the jws i started to question the bible (as most probably do).

  i researched inteligent design and evolution, and put them on an even playing ground so i could get a proper view of everything without my old 'watchtower goggles' on that seemed to stop me from seeing anything else but the friggin' organisation.. personaly i beleive we were created by something/someone, and to me the universe is to big and to complicated to have just happened by chance.

  I suggest you take a closer look at what's going on here. Clearly see that words, thoughts and beliefs about your Source, are not working for you. Mental constructs will never give you the reality you seek, be they past concepts or new.

  Discover what is real. Begin by earnestly investigating into everything you believe yourself to be. Realize the truth of your own being, and all the rest will fall into place.

  yes - pretty soon i'm sure they'll be telling you how to trim your toenails.

  i'm surprised that they still allow dancing at weddings actually, since we know that dancing was so paganistic and led to wild, animalistic sex.
