Welcome, Dear Sandy, Can you see how friendly, open and welcoming these people are? Can you see how they have taken the time to reach out to you. Much is being said here, without words. As someone mentioned earlier, you seem to have some soul searching to do. You have already begun, or you would not be here. I suggest taking walks and hikes in nature, and spending time not thinking so much as feeling what it is like to be alive. Ask your silent heart: "what is true?" Is there a god who will kill me if I do not love him? Is it humanly possible for me to truly love what kills? Is Truth/God more far reaching than such idea's? Don't ask your mind and it's beliefs, ask your heart, that place in you from which life and love comes. We have many answers already within us, if we just silently listen. JamesT

Is everyone on this Web Board a Jehovah's Witness Basher?
by sandy ini grew up in the religion and was baptized at.............supposedly the most important day in our lives and i cannot remember how old i actually was, anyways...... i believe it was 13 or 14. i was never disfellowshipped.
i have a "worldly" boyfriend whom i love dearly, and i no longer attend the "meetings".
i do not disagree with the organization entirely; in fact i am not even sure if i disagree with it at all.

Someone call the police
by whyhideit init was a day like any other day in the police force.
we would get calls for help, and spend time talking to the victims and eternity writing reports out about what happened.
to no ones surprise the day began with a call from a woman that claimed to be the victim of a serial killer.

Sadly, the foundation on which the Jewish, Christian and Islamic beliefs stand goes unquestioned,

Those left behind, is there world better then ours? (Long)
by whyhideit inwe had been at sea for months, without even the occasional glimpse of life beyond the waves.
the men and woman, they seemed weak and down trodden by the time on this great body of water.
i feared that with the coming days would come death, and perhaps illness that would further weaken our journey to a new world.

Yes, sometimes it helps to ponder what we left behind, as it makes where we are seem that much brighter. Vivid, and well written story. JamesT

Commentary/Survey: The Necessity for God to Destroy Evil Individuals
by Derrick init's time to wake up and smell the coffee.
the world trade center and other acts of terrorism highlight the necessity for god to exterminate not only those behind these mass murders such as members of the al quaida network but all evil individuals worldwide engaging in crime.
forget the watchtower society's pet pieves about who is evil and who qualifies for destruction.

Mans continuous belief in a "person" god, out-there someplace, that is capable of killing (seemingly quite eager to, in most causes) may very well be the root cause of mans spiritual bankruptcy and mans inhumanity to man.

Nothing wrong Skally, in putting up ones sword. Letting go of the past and future. And just being present in the moment with the ones we love. Do you have a "gone fish'n" sign?

It is better to have hope (Long)
by whyhideit inthe man began to speak, "for years brother we have hoped for the new system and wanted the day to come when we would be free of death and living in paradise.
i thought to myself, "two hundred years, two hundred years, take me to the future two hundred years.
when i woke, the air was filled with noise and people were walking all around me.

First time caller, long time lurker
by Gollum infinally, guilt at just being a lurker has driven me onto the board.
not that i feel i have much to add, but did want to extend my appreciation for much of the information and insight i have received from many of the posters here.. i suppose some brief synopsis of my story should be forthcoming.
its very similar to many of stories i have read here.. was raised in the truth ,third generation on both sides.
