  What does Elizabeth Smart and Jehovah's Witnesses have in common?

  elizabeth smart the young teenager who was recently found with her kidnappers, did not escape when she had a chance, and may have come to befriend and sympathize with her captors.

  the reason was due to a psychological stress phenomena call stockholm syndrome.

  please read this short explanation, keeping in mind the stress and pressures of living under the heavy hand of jehovah the god of armies, and his henchmen the watchtower organization.

  when you sit and ponder, it is plain that life is lived in the moment.

  often times, if not always, the most joyous moments are those when we are so present that all thoughts of "me" are gone and there is just this vibrant aliveness, beauty and warmth.

  you just know there's going to be trouble when there's a preface of apology to the many christians i'm about to insult.

  i really don't mean to (honest t' god), but i can't express myself around it and still make sense.

  the only reconciliation i can offer is just know that everything i say here can, to some degree -- be applied and insulting to jews and moslems as well.

  first, and most important: thanks to all those who read my introduction-post last saturday, and especial thanks to those who replied.

  like many who have been disfellowshipped (and especially those raised in the org) i've been dragged through icy waves of agonizing hurt and anger; often followed by times of peace and letting go; only to be hit by another turbulent and bitter bout of animosity and grief.

  the tides do run deep, don't they.

  a child can see that the god portrayed in the bible is repulsive.. .

  the same child standing in awe of the midnight sky is in love.. .
