I have been reading that scripture all my life and I didn't know it said "KNOW" . I always thought it said taking in knowledge. I just looked it up in five other translations and they all said KNOW. I'm still being amazed at how the WT has hacked up the bible to suit themselves.Thanks for the info. Robotnomore.

What I Don't Miss at a District Convention

name the things you don't miss about going to a dc!

---getting there so early and then find that the "servants" have saved all the good seats

---not having time to make a decent lunch and getting admonished about not buying from nearby vendors.

Rocking side to side in your seat to try to keep your arse from going numb.

Trying to keep from getting a knot on my head when I fell asleap in my chair and my head fell over and bumped the top of the chair.

I sure don't miss the ties around my neck!

i see 2 sisters today inj the fs .. so stop and start working them, they are so happy i know much about the wt.

i went into some thing about selling mag's etc.

and all of a sudden they went wild on how at the hall the co or somebody was asking for thousands of $'s for an assembly .

i came to this site via freeminds.com and am really quite surprised to learn that this site is maintained by active jw's (am i correct?

- i'm a slow learner).

i get the feeling i maybe getting the shun treatment, which is okay, for i understand that for the mindset from which it originates.

Where are you going when you die?

a questions that has been on my mind for 20+ years that i have been away.. and more recently - a friend of my sons was killed.

he ask me "mom where are you going when you die?

" i am worried because if you die, i don't know where you are going.

I believe that if you have faith that Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you have him in your heart that you are saved. When you die then you go to heaven to be with the Lord. Example: Criminal hanging beside Jesus on the Cross. My 2cents.

Did Jesus use real wine or grape juice at the last supper?

i was talking to a friend and they said that jesus didn't use real wine because he would not put any alcohol in his body.

she said that when jesus was hanging on the cross and they offered him the pain killer and he refused proves that he wouldn't take alcohol.

so in their communion at their church they use grape juice instead of wine.

I appreciate everyones viewpoint on this. Its interesting to see. It looks like most lean towards it being real wine.

The article that Jgnat posted is very interesting. It brought up the point that the Jewish people were not allowed to have anything that was fermented or leavened in their homes at the time of Passover. So that would seem to rule out it being real wine.

Was the WT wrong about this too? You would think that they could at least get the Memorial right! NOT......

I RENOUNCE MY ASSOCIATION WITH JWS

it is my pleasure to announce i have terminated my membership of the jehovahs wittnesses.

i shall be formally making this statement known to my congregation at tomorrow nights meeting after i have taken the ministry school.

for many years i have developed my own thoughts on religion and this along with the information i have learned here and on other sites has convinced me that i can no longer live teaching the bollocks the wtbs.

You have some hard times ahead of you but its worth every second of them. We wrote a letter of resignation at the end of last year. We have lots of family still in and are shunned by most of them but its still worth it in the end. We are happier now than we have ever been. We still have our ups and downs but overall its a blessing to know the truth about the troof. Hang in there. Robotnomore
