  my wife and i resigned from the wtbs last year.

  we have a 13 yr. old daughter left at home.

  we have 2 married daughters that have nothing to do with us but want to associate with their little sister.

  I appreciate your suggestions and think they are right on the money. I agree that educating her on the ways of the WT cult will go a long way towards keeping her out of it.

  Being forwarned and forarmed is an excellent suggestion. I will educate her about how the WT fits the criteria of a CULT and how they control peoples lives including her sisters. Thanks for the help.

  She looks up to them alot, so it would be very dangerous to let them have free access to her. Thanks for the input.

  JT,

  I will use all of your suggestions. I've tried to draw her out about how she feels about all of this and she doesn't agree with the JW's but she just doesn't seem to want to talk about it. Showing it to her in black and white might help. Thanks for the help.

  It is very arrogant of the WT to think we are going to comply with their rules. One of the main reasons we left besides the lies and the false prophesies and all of the other burdens they put on you. Thanks

  Sorry it took so long to get back. We certainly appreciate all of the advice. I know that what you are all saying is true. We were sort of being led by our emotions that we have for our other kids but reading all of your replies helped to settle it in our minds.

  We try, but its hard to forget just how manipulative the JW's can be. So thanks so much for taking the time to help us. This place is a haven sent from God and so are friends that care enough to help. Thanks again.

  If anyone else has any suggestions, we would appreciate hearing them.

  lets go on a trip into the biblical past, correct me for getting this wrong but,certain areas city gates were designated for the scholars.

  learned men ,covering all aspects of city life and dominated by free religiouse speech,the gathering together of spiritual men discusing all and every spiritual possibility ,were open up for every conceivable argument and permeation covering jesus christ,and all other gods,nothing was left out,questions were asked and answerd,by learned scholars and ordinary men,.

  My wife and I resigned from the WTBS last year. We have a 13 yr. old daughter left at home. We have 2 married daughters that have nothing to do with us but want to associate with their little sister. One of them said they wanted to meet us and take her somewhere and then meet back later and bring her back to us.

  Our view is that if we let our youngest daughter see them treat us like s**t then she would think it was alright to do it too. We want them to be able to be together but we also know how the JW's work. Planting their seeds. We don't want her to be influenced at all by the WTBS brainwashing techniques.

  Has anyone else had to deal with a situation like this or have any suggestions that would be of help? Would be very much appreciated.

  Can they announce that you are df'd or da'd without telling you?

  i know this sounds like a stupid question.

  we haven't attended a meeting in almost a year.

  about 5 months ago they sent us a registered letter saying they wanted to meet with my husband and i and discuss charges of apostasy.

  Yes, they can do anything they want. We sent a da letter certified and we were never notified if it was announced or not. I guess it must have been announced because none of my family will have anything to do with me anymore-----unless it has to do with money!! You will probably find out by the way the dubs treat you. The way I look at it, if thats the decision they make its their loss.

  SMURFS ?!

  can anyone tell me what was wrong with the smurfs ?.

  i heard some horrible rumours about them as a kid, something about some kid taking a smurf to the kingdom hall, it making a whole lotta noise and then trotting off up the aisle until some burley elder threw it out the back !.

  while we are on this point anyone ever have things taken away from them for being demonic etc

  Yes!! It was in the early 80's the WT said that the smurfs were demonized. We heard something about a smurf doll getting up and walking out. The hall we were going to told us we should get rid of any smurf toys that we had for the kids. More of the same stupidity they have always been spewing out. Is that paranoid or what?
