Confirmation bias doesn’t adequately explain my dream with its multiple points of detail. I have never had a dream that remotely resembles that dream, before or since. I can’t prove to anyone I had it of course so you are free to dismiss it.

What personal experiences have you had with 6th sense?
by Fernando ini was at work one day at a seafood wholesaler (some years ago).
there was considerable tension in the air.. another worker briefly left the workplace.
he could simply have gone to the toilet or for a smoke.. without seeing where he'd gone, or what he was doing, or hearing what he was saying, i instinctively knew he had instead gone upstairs to see a particular manager.

I had a dream years ago when my cat went missing. Three days before she came back I dreamed that she would turn up Sunday afternoon with a damaged left back leg. That the neighbours would find her under the fire escape stairs in the afternoon that day, that the day would be sunny and that she would have an operation to fix her leg. Also unfortunately, that she would die because of it as well. Sad to say it all came precisely true. I still miss her to this day.
Also I’ve had more experiences that this as well. Here is a video of me talking about one of them.

Oh see. I don’t even think Watchtower anymore as it’s been years since I was there.
If we were to suppose that logic and reason still functions before the big bang, even though the mathematics breakdown in a singularity, because properties go infinite, like the big bang, I would think that cause and effect still must work. Doesn’t that if true mean infinity, if one is to avoid the something form nothing scenario? Of course infinity is also implied by the mathematics breaking down in a singularity.

Actually I don’t know how it all happened. My own belief in God doesn’t tell me that. Remember that I don’t take Genesis literally. The reason I bring it up is because derivatives of the word `chance` get used all the time to explain how all came into existence. Granted such use of the word is often due to an atheistic view by those who are also scientists, but that is my point in a way, because chance is just a word that means `mathematical probabilities` which is a perfectly good scientific tool. However something has to be there to have a probability and thus chance cannot cause anything to come into being if there was nothing there before, no matter how it is put. Doesn’t this leave only one possibility, infinity? However isn’t infinity also logically impossible, ironically because it doesn’t have a beginning?
Talesin I have a great sympathy for your viewpoint indeed, I would say go for it. I personally don’t buy into the view that belief in God is required for moral living. However such questions fascinate me.
I should also clarify that I except evolution for biology and for cosmology, but I am going to back to the point before both of those things.

Out and Gay but fed up of 'fading' - advice please.
by frogonmytoe insomeone once quoted gandhi to me, but i don't actually think it was gandhi, saying that man can only be happy when what he says, what he believes and what he does are all in harmony.. how many of us led lives that meant all three of those were at loggerheads whilst jws?.
i came out as gay when still a witness, to my family first and then my friends.
they were all accepting of me, to varying degrees, but accepting.. i even asked the elders for help.

As a gay guy who is an x witness, although still officially baptised I would say that if you are sure that your BF is with you for the long term and you with him, and you trust him, them your emotional stability and foundation doesn’t have to be with your parents and family. Consider telling them and see what happens because it will be OK even if it takes a while.

Speaking as a gay guy I’m not sure it would cause a problem. The fact is when I was at that age where I was becoming sexually aware, and started to notice other fellow school boys (this is going back a good few years now) I knew not to draw attention to my inner attraction for fear of being targeted. So when doing physical education classes and having to go in the shower with my mates, I made sure I didn’t bring a magnifying glass in with me. Basically I didn’t mention my sexuality. Of course these days one would hope that a kid going through puberty would not have to make a special effort to keep it secret any more that straight class mates. The mere thought of a male gay person being put in with the girls on the grounds of sexual preference would be very damaging to a kid’s sense of worth. He would feel the odd one out big time if such were the case. Homosexuality is not the same as being trapped in the wrong body as with transexuality. Male gays are not girls and in many cases do not identify with girlish things. They don’t dissociate with being a masculine human. I certainly didn’t. I guess the answer is with kids at that age to make them all fit in with each other as much as possible and not make sexual desire a big thing. I imagine straight kids have to place a certain restraint on their own desires, like we all do. The real issue is being accepted as part of the group; particularly this is the case for young people. The more people point at the differences the harder that will be.
I recon the reason boys and girls are separated in certain contexts where cloths may be taken off is not so much because they are gonna jump into bed at the first opportunity but because of self-consciousness. It would be self-consciousness related to intimacy rather than nakedness, if one can see the distinction. Now that is something gay people would have to deal with more as the objects of their desire would be around in intimate contexts. However even that may not be as true as it might appear to be. When I was at school in that position of taking the proverbial shower with my mates, they were my mates anyway. That fact made a difference. It wasn’t like having to shower with strangers every time, whom I had never seen before and that simple fact mitigated any self-consciousness connected to intimacy, connected to sexual desire.
I don’t think it is a big deal in the grand scheme of things and will work out fine, after all the military hasn’t fallen apart as some predicted.

Does Almighty God think about......... ?
by Phizzy inalmighty god must have had a lot of time for thinking, so he must have sat there, at least once and thought along the lines of:.
"i wonder if i am actually almighty god, or is there something or someone greater than me ?".
"how can i know i have always existed?".

What an interesting question. I have thought quite a bit about the nature of God over the years. It is obvious that no serious thinker thinks that God is a bearded man in the literal sky, although that is how atheists and some fundamentalists often characterise the concept of God.
Its gets even deeper than that for me when the issue of Gods mind and thoughts are brought up. How does God think and what does he think about? Are questions predicated on God somehow being like physical human beings! There are legitimate questions before those questions however, because thinking is something one does by virtue of not knowing all things. Thinking is a kind of navigation though a world of possibilities that themselves are only possibilities because of being constrained by limitations. One has to think when one doesn’t know the answer. In terms of being human and having a physical brain, even when we know the answer the brain still has to do activity to get the memory of the correct answer out of storage as it were. Although in this no trying to work out the answer type of brain activity has to be done.
If God is the one through all things ultimately come, which is a good philosophical definition for God, then by definition he knows all the answers, so doesn’t have to think in order the get the answers. If God is all powerful and infinite then in some sense he is not going to be subject to time or limitation, so any fact he knows or thinks will not have a greater priority in his so called brain than any other, but if one did as with thinking, then that would not be being all powerful and infinite because he would be subject to change. Change is not compatible with infinity because however much it changes it is always the same. Nothing can be added or taken away or change. So the concept of God thinking is problematic if he is all powerful and infinite.
However God could be all powerful and the one through whom all things come in the sense of not being all powerful to the infinite degree, but all powerful in the sense of being the most powerful it is possible to be, or more so than anyone else. An analogy might be the boss and creator of a company. He is all powerful over the company he created, and by definition the top of the tree in terms of authority. However he still can’t levitate the office. Perhaps a better analogy would be an example like the film `the matrix`. Some being of non-defined origin creates a simulation, and populates it with beings capable of thought and freedom in a universe/world that obeys mathematical laws. That being is functionally God by virtue of being as powerful as it is possible to be, and creating all things from the point of view of those in the simulation. The only constraint would be the mathematical laws the simulation is based. However it would still mean he could do things that the beings created via the simulation that are in the simulation cannot do. If this is the case with our God then he might be able to think in a way humans can relate to.
In both versions of God the question of God actually thinking about the possibility of another greater being than himself would not be relevant. With the infinite God that could not be the case because two infinities is impossible. If there are two, then they limit each other by virtue of not being part of one another. If they are part of one another, then they are one infinity again and thus one God.
In the case of the all-powerful, but never the less limited by mathematics God, who created the simulated world, he would not wonder about a greater being than himself because any such being would only exist in his world, not the simulated world. In terms of the simulated world it would be an irrelevance.
Of course another view is that somehow the infinite and finite are united in a way impossible to understand because of the inherent contraction it creates in minds that think. If this is somehow the case, atheists are doing what they are supposed to be doing and theists are doing what they are supposed to be doing, and all things will be fine as all are part of one another. What people think may be a complete irrelevance ultimately, but relevant in a shorter term view, a finite term.
