I guess I'd still end up being the bad seed.....LOL
Apostate....maybe...
i know some of you hate the idea of jwd being like a congregation but just for fun, let's imagine who would "serve" as the elders (presiding overseer, secretary, service overseer) etc.
and what "privileges" you would be given.
I guess I'd still end up being the bad seed.....LOL
Apostate....maybe...
she's gone.....and no-one seems to care, here's a couple of musical prompts to help you all.............. 1. the typewriter song (various artists).
2. tell me what he said (helen shapiro).
3. windmill in old amsterdam (ronnie hilton).
Skippy the Bush kangaroo
Is that like the new White House mascot.......Couldn't they get a dog or cat like everyone else. Maybe because it's easier for a kangaroo to jump when you say "JUMP".
Many musicians, I guess we all have our favorites, the ones which touched our soul will always be more appealing than others. Music can be nostalgic in that it can help bring back emotions we have experienced. Somewhat of a tool to relive experiences.
So yes when our favorite musician dies, it can be tragic.
the whole discussion on "america" made me wonder the above.. by the way the war of 1812 wasn't against canadians but against the brits and won by americans after the battle of new orleans--which inspired one of the funniest lines in folk music, penned by jimmy driftwood and sung by the great johnny horton:.
..."we fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down.. so we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round.. we filled his head with cannon balls, and powdered his behind.
and when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind.".
On a personal level, we do not need to envy your personal lives. Most Canadians believe they have the right and the opportunities to achieve "The American Dream", as much as anyone else. Our country is rich in natural resources, and yes it would be nice to have a place where once in a while you got to warm your bones by the fire without having to answer thousand and one questions, but besides that, we enjoy that we are tough enough to endure cold. We don't have a choice do we?
Mexicans and French are also different cultures on this continent, different languages, and have made sure they had bounderies to protect their cultures. One thing that amazes me is that the English didn't do this. Why would the English speaking nation wish to put a border within themselves. Isn't the North American English nation not the same? To me, an English is an English, just like a French is a French, and I do not say this in a derogatory way.
As Canadians, we just tagged along as you guys did "Big Business", we don't really have to do much, the money comes from selling our natural resources to you guys. So we are a little more laid back, hard workers also, and some of us are good engineers and thinkers, just like any other culture I guess.
But if we are a free continent, as in "free world", why do we have bounderies at all? Why bother? Maybe some polititian can answer that, cause to us regular people, we don't see the need for it.
And maybe some politian can answer why we choose to weaponize ourselves. And why we choose to use them. Of course if someone comes at me with an AK 47, I'd like to have one of my own so I can defend myself, but am I not gonna start a killing spree just because I have one.
Canadians didn't feel threatened by the 9/11 attacks, and we don't totally understand why you need to embark on a military crusade because of it, but you seem to understand your reasons why.
We are dependant on your economy, we feel part of the family, it's just we don't agree with big brother. In a way, we have to live by what you decide is best, or else we'll be cut off from the family business. We think big brother is a little presumptious, a little hot headed, and we don't like the fact that he's always right, but hey, deep down he's a nice guy, he means well.
It was mentioned a few days back, that many here from the US have left the forum because it seems they feel attacked. Now that is so dumb. They were the ones who started to bombard the watchtower without mercy, and now they can't take constructive critism? What's that all about? They should well be aware that we do not attack them personally, were just having some fun, just like they had fun with the watchtower.
It's just a political debate, get a grip will ya. Or have you traded your Borg membership to another controlling group where apostates are the bad seed?
well, i've been paranoid of my own country for a long time, but this just makes me a little more nervous.
now, our neighboring countries must live by america's rules?
i could be reading too much into this, but canada is its own sovereign nation, and they don't have to live by america's rules just because they are our neighbors.
The US intelligence couldn't stop 9/11, so now you're going to tell us it's our fault. Don't ask us to protect your borders, that's your job.
Now you're going to start accusing us of harboring terrorists so you can find reason to invade us also? We didn't set the borders you did (more than likely), so live with that and leave us to our own decisions.
I think you guys are seriously looking for fights. But remember, you are only about 4% of total population. You might have the guns, but you might run out of people to shoot them.
And JH, Canada might be in North America, but we don't call ourselves Americans do we? You don't have to kiss their asses you know.
All I hope for, is for our elected officials to stand up to this blackmail and Mr Bush & Co.. I hope Canada wakes up and finds other trading partners. There are plenty of people to sell products to than the US, and besides we always have to do it out of obligation. In other words.."we'll give you a good deal cause you're friends". But you guys never give us a good deal, and we have to accept your decisions as our decisions. Many times when our products are cheaper, you stop us from exporting them to your country, because your businessmen cry that we are hurting their markets. Free trade my ass.
We weren't particularly fond that you invaded Iraq, but we kept our mouths shut the best we could. We didn't participate cause we knew what it was all about and wanted no part of it. But if you're gonna put a financial knife to our throat, we might just have to fight back.
But remember, we are not being the bad neighbours, you are.

A few blondes are in a bar. Everytime they order a round, they stand up, toast and yell....
51 DAYS..... 51 DAYS.....51 DAYS.....
The bartender is intrigued so he walks up to the table and asks what all the celebrating is about....
One of the blonde girl replies.....
We've completed a puzzle in 51 days but the box said "3 to 5 years"
Sorry to have burst....well....your crystal ball...
although we don't know each other, i do sense a lot of love and respect in your relationship.
that kind of feeling when you know no one else could fill your partner's shoes.
and although you're aware the other is not perfect, your admiration for each other is beyond that.
Hi,
Although we don't know each other, I do sense a lot of love and respect in your relationship. That kind of feeling when you know no one else could fill your partner's shoes. And although you're aware the other is not perfect, your admiration for each other is beyond that. Really nice to see. It can be felt all the way here in my living room.
I've always envied (a little) people who seemed so much in love after so many years. It just something I could never get right, no matter how hard I tried. It always seemed like the person I was with was not the one I should be with.
It's cute to see you guys still courting. Truly a proof that it can be done.
Long life to both of you, your family and relationship.
Mark.

those of you who follow news of phenomena and the fringe of science probably know what i'm talking about - the mysterious planet x is supposed to collide with earth on may 15th.. strangely enough, no astronomer anywhere can detect the approaching planet.
the reason is simple - it isn't there.. as the ides of may approach, life on planet earth goes on, and shall go on.
So little time.....
What can we do.....only two weeks left.....
Let's all jump in a four door sedan and warn people about this.....
We could meet at McDonald's and discuss the strategy......and discuss the strategy......and discuss the strategy......lol
Gotta go buy myself an umbrella, if it hits here I'll be protected.

Agendas don't just make people stupid, they also make people willing to lie.
Exactly how I feel about the US Gov.
Maybe the story is exagerated and possibly never happened. One thing that stood out, and reminded me, is how fanatical Emergency Response personel can be. They just love the power their guns give them.
A few years back, I had a contract servicing emergency vehicles, such as ambulances, police cruisers, ect., so I've had plenty of time to get to know these guys, and believe me they love their position of power, and many times show little respect for the victims in the receiving end. Just look at cop shows, you'll see what I mean.
So even if this particular story is not true, I have no problem believing it could happen, and in the fashion described above. I'm not saying all of them are like this, cause I did met excellent people while servicing them, but often enough, I was amazed at the tone of conversation they had.
I live in a small town bordering Canada, so crossing the border is an everyday thing....but recently I did notice a change in how I'm treated on the American side. A lot more of ID checking and suspicion even if they've seen your face for the past ten years.
So yes, things are certainly changing. What is the real agenda? I have no clue, but I don't like to see basic freedoms being taken away simply because a bunch of bozos at the top feel they need to do this to control the majority.
For some reason, I just can't get myself to believe they are doing this for the benefit of the population. I just have the feeling they are doing this to save their corporations and line their pockets.
You seem to support them, did they line your pockets in the process? Have they made your life any better? And is your future more secure now?
thanx.....
