If there was a threat that the US should be concerned about is Iran and they're going to let the Euroweenies handle that for them. I'm impressed by their sense of urgency. The only obvious reason the US is not getting involved is because they can't, militarily and financially. Of course they won't admit to that, so they pass the buck, and with this one (Iran) they'll use diplomacy. What a load of .....!

All watchtower litterature falls under "Works for hire". This is mostly done when the artist or writer uses someone elses assets to produce the works and is being paid to do so. The individuals writing articles do not retain their ownership of the works, it is passed on to the individual or corporation in this case the Watchtower (that is why you never see who initially wrote the article.). I'm not too familiar with "writings", but in the music industry this is pretty common. Even some well known bands were tricked into signing contracts which included "works for hire" clauses passing on their rights to ownership to record companies and such. Ex: Beatles, Rolling Stones, CCR...the list goes on.

It seems to me that they know you have done this using their CD-ROM, in other words using a copy and paste function. You might need to alter the presentation to hide this fact.
In the licence agreement they put more emphasis on the "software" part rather than the data. Are you using the software on your site as part of the search function?

i mean prices of fuel have jumped to record high all over the world as result of one storm, how bad can it get really?

i have to say that generally the criticism on this board toward jws is over the top.. i personally have huge problems with the 'truth' right now in my life but i notice the ones who have literally nothing good to say about anything.. there are a lot of good witnesses and a lot of good doctrine and a lot of good motives among jws.. criticism fine, but jesus commended when due.. .
Jesus didn't spare the pharisees, did he? Were the pharisees all that bad? I'm sure they weren't. The problem the pharisees had according to Jesus, was that they judged severely and put unnecessary weights on the shoulders of "the common people", weights they didn't want to carry themselves. The good didn't outweigh the bad.
The same applies to the body of elders of the WT. I think Jesus would blast them just as much as he did with the pharisees. It's not the regular joe that is wrong, it's the leaders and their lack of empathy and repentance in regards to their mistakes.

Katrina was particular in that it hit New Orleans, which is a hub for oil refineries and gasoline distribution. If you look at it you'll notice it really didn't have that much of an impact on oil prices, actually, oil prices have come down since (maybe not at the pump but crude oil has) about 6 bucks a barrel. So not all hurricanes will have an impact on oil prices.
Natural disasters are in a sense good for the economy since people have to rebuild, creating jobs and a flow of money. However, too many in a short period could be disastrous.
As far as JW rejoicing over economic collapse, little do they know that maybe they'll have to starve before the big A hits. The great tribulation precedes the big A (according to the bible) and they are ill prepared for such a collapse. They have the view that once everything comes crashing down the end will come and they'll be rescued. They might dance at first but the dance might not last long.
Personally, since things are not looking up, we might eventually see a correction in the markets. The pyramid scheme of capitalism will need to be rectified since now the middle class is starting to feel the pinch. Too much money at the top and too little at the bottom, it's bound to collapse. The world economy is pretty resilient and we could still be decades away from such an event.
