  Another New Rule-----You Can't Record Prayers at the District Convention

  my mother told me that she got a video from a sister that already went to the convention.

  the entire program was recorded except for the prayers.

  the sister said the society says we have to shut off the recording if the prayer is being given.

  may you all have peace.

  last night when i went to bed, my heart was quite heavy: there were things on it, in it, thereon... whatever... that i could not reconcile: i know what i have heard from my lord - how do i get others who love him to grasp that such a thing is possible, to understand that they do not have to take my word for it, but can ask him, for i am nothing more than a good-for-nothing-slave... and have "sold" myself into the "service" of the one who "bought" me... so that it is his will that i must obey... whether earthling man hears... or refrain?

  this is not new "fight" with me, let me tell you: i know exactly how jeremiah felt, for i cannot count the times my heart has felt the same thing.

  Witnesses still having some success at doors

  riding around the city this morning i saw 2 witnesses from my congregation talking to a man at his door, and they seemed to have placed a book or magazine.

  although they did not enter his house, they stead there at his door a couple of minutes.

  although most do not answer or accept anything from witnesses, he seemed to be an exception.

  with some interesting changes in jw land ....... - subscriptions only allowed through kingdim hall.

  - internet is more so taboo.

  - the watchtower site, has no history files or unable to read magazines on line, it seems that they will not be using the internet as a tool for preaching.. - new comers into the religion, can sheck out everything on the internet before they get too involved.. so, how will the watchtower be able to increase the numbers (followers) ????????.

  %3? I don't think so. Nearby congregations revisit people all the time here. I also don't believe that 99% who get baptized are children. Last year the baptism fugire was more than 4% of the punlisher statistic.

  To hillary_step : Couldnt Franz take these brothers to court because he couldn't appeal the descicion of his expulsion? I've heard stories of elders not daring to disfellowhip one because because of fear that somebody may take legal action against them for mistreatment and injustification of the matters. Why didn't Franz do that?

  Why didnt Franz take legal action when he was "UNFAIRLY" expelled? That's what I want to know.

  Can anybody point me in the direction of a district convention?

  i know some of you may find this strange, but i really want to go along to a district convention this year.

  its been eight years since i last went and i was wondering how things would look from a mature apostate perspective.

  a convention near to sheffield england would be good, but perhaps not too near so i can avoid being trailed by security.

  i was raised non-religious.

  i don't call myself an atheist as such because i don't like to label anyone, but i don't actually believe in god (though i am christian in background, and several branches of family family are roman catholic).

  my fiance knows this.

  If you oppose the Witnesses, PLEASE TELL HIM SO!! Dont consider marriage if you both dont know what really goes in your heads about religion and the future.
