  i am writer currently working on a book about the watchtower.

  i am in need of testimony's from ex jws who are willing to have them published.

  WHY DO NEWSPAPER ARTICLES ALWAYS REFER TO ......

  the persons mentioned, in their articles as "a member of the jehovah's witnesses" or a jehovah's witness, when reporting ?.

  i noticed this again in blondie's latest thread, "about women dies in blaze".

  it seems to happen a lot, and for no apparent reeason, especially when the point about being a jw really has nothing to do with the relevance of the news story?.

  Because people like indentify as JW to reporters. The religion helps describe the person's life. Newspapers don't limit these references to JWs. How many times don't we read in the paper that a member of 'this' and 'that' church died? I read about fatalities in my paper everyday.

  facts about the JW religion

  i'm putting together a brochure for release in my area - to local churches and bookstores.

  on the first panel i want to explain to the reader why the jw religion is not a "harmless" little church.

  so i decided to list in bullet format a few facts that the average person may not be aware of.. for example, bullet 1 will be information on the number of children who have died because of refusing blood (any ideas where i can find exact numbers??).

  hi there people.. i was listening to a public talk recently and in it the speaker said that the wts is not chargeing money for the magazines to make it easier for people with little money to receive the magazines.

  i told my wife "thats crap".

  there are some countries who are still charged money for magazines, and i beleive most of these countries that are still charged money are from the poorer nations.

  2002 Yearbook says this:

  "Another factor in reaching more people with the good news has been the simplified literature distribution arrangement. Jehovah has blessed the faith shown by his servants in this matter. The voluntary donation arrangement is explained to people, but no charge is made for the literature. As of January 2000, that arrangement was extended to all lands where it was not already in operation. The Central African Republic branch wrote: "This means that anyone, no matter what his or her financial situation may be, can have the necessary printed material to become a disciple of Christ.   I don't think they charge anymore. I think they stopped doing this a year ago.
