  Were All Early Christians Preachers?

  reading the book of acts and the letters of paul do not bear out the dogma that all the early christians preached.

  there are no "service meetings" in the new testament that prepare the average christian for a public ministry.

  reading accounts from contemporary first and second century christians indicates that it was the example of christians, not the preaching by all, that primarily drew nonbelievers to christianity.. it is significant that the instructions to preach that are in the new testament are addressed to "elders" and "overseers" like timothy.

  i thought reuben was superb on all 3 of his songs; clay sang the best only on his 3rd song.

  just because clay sang a great final few notes on his 3rd song, doesn't mean he deserves to be american idol.. my best friend and i hope reuben wins, but believe clay will get more votes.. earlier today i heard bleach-blond frenchie who got booted off for her topless photos sing on a morning show...she would have blown the competition out of the water!

  THE CHOIR MESSED UP EVERYTHING! I wouldn't want to vote for Ruben and then help him be a Gospel superstar. So i went for Clay. Who else thought also about those 3rd last so songs?

  today is a lazy rainy sunday here.

  so i splurged and watched the first 6 episodes of last season's 24. costco had the whole first season on dvd for only $39.99 the other day, so i got it.

  that seems to me to be a bargain compared to some of the other shows on sale.

  statistics canada just released the results of their 2001 census.. .

  in the 10 years from 1991 to 2001 the jw's had a 8.1% decrease .

  1991 - 168,375 (km reports approx 110,000 active pubs).

  i see 2 sisters today inj the fs .. so stop and start working them, they are so happy i know much about the wt.

  i went into some thing about selling mag's etc.

  and all of a sudden they went wild on how at the hall the co or somebody was asking for thousands of $'s for an assembly .

  Reliable stats about the mormons???

  hi, i would like to find a website with the statistic of the growth within the mormons church.

  do they grow quicker than the jehovah witness?

  my guess is that they grow a little bit quicker but it would be fine to have some proofs of that.

  Mormons are not the fastes growing religion. 4 OUT OF 5 MORMONS ARE INACTIVE. That's right 75% of the now 11.7 million members. The church count these people in even if they NEVER return. Last yeat barely ONE new congregation was formed every SIX days. And although they are active in most countries almost all of them are in in the Western hemisphere. There are so few in Europe and they make no special effort in India. The the percentage rate of increase has dropped signfantly in the past 10 years. In census figures when ask what religious affiliation they belong to, the member stats don't add up. It turns our that many members dont consider themselves mormoms. 90% of the active members are woman. And they still count as members people who can't be located, unless there is a proof of the person's death or until they reach the age of 110.   so often when the wts reports about persecution of jws they conveniently forget to mention that other religions in the area are receiving the same treatment.

  It is said that Jehovah's Witnesses in Eritrea are the most persecuted in that country. They are the only ones that are denied citizenship.
