if any of you wish to kindly make donations to vicki boer, we are formulating a vehicle to attend to this as we speak.. we have been in touch with vicki, who is understandably deeply distressed at the turn of events that have forced her to relive much of the trauma which she hoped that this court case would put to rest, and are wresting a plan which would allow her to receive personal donations aimed at her well-being rather than enriching either the wts or her advisers.. an address will be forthcoming shortly, together with a paypal email address which will allow you to send your donations or well-wishes to vicki, scott and the girls.

There are so many that have been touched by Vicki and her courage and her fight. I hope all work with you on this plan.
There were other ideas being suggested and/or being put into place but it sounds like yours will happen quickest and will be the more secure. I really hope as many as possible will direct their donations and good wishes via the route you will announce.
Other things are in the works for battling the overall problem, but the immediate needs are for Vicki.

Well, the votes have been tallied and the Liberals have won control of the Province.
I wish them well and hope they fulfill half of their campaign promises.
Of the things I found most positive was the increased turn out at the polls. It is good to see people taking their right to speak up and cast a vote seriously!
The other great thing is it should mean job security for Walter :)

If you want more taxes... I am sick of losing close to 30% of my wages to taxes. But if you don't mind that I suppose Liberal is the way to go.
Ontarians are one of the highest taxed groups in Canada. Businesses would rather start up in other provinces due to the business tax structure in our province.
The Tories are the only gov't with the balls in the past 15 years to stand up to the self serving Unions.
I think I will stick with my vote for the PC party.

man faces charges after sex assault at hospital
brandon - a 42 year-old jehovah's witness elder has been charged after a senior citizen complained she was assaulted by a man pretending to be a doctor at a brandon hospital.
There are two different arrangements for elders to go to hopsitals. The most advertised is the HLC groups regarding blood.
The other arrangement is for "Pastoral visitation." I was one of the elders assigned to 4 local hospitals in my area. I had to go meet up with the hospital chaplaincy and was added to the allowed contacts. If someone was admitted into the hospital and claimed to be a JW I could have a list of their names to go visit them. Or if someone asked for a JW minister I would be called.
IMO This arrangement is the closest thing the JW's have to a 'loving arrangement to help the flock." Not surprisingly it is also the aspect of most congregations that gets ignored.
When I read the story, I immediately got the impression he was there doing such a visitation arrangment. So his being an elder got him into the hospital but then pretended to be a doctor to the patient.

Of interest in Young v. Young SCR (1995), the non-Witness parent tried to enjoin the congregation of Jehovah's WItnesses as well as bethel for their financial support of the JW parent in a custody hearing. The Society won that part of the battle in not making Bethel and the local congregation responsible for costs.
The Watch Tower successfully put into place current jurisprudence which would prevent them from trying to get the identity of donors and go after them for the $$.
