I am not sure if it was my comments you were reading but I have never made it a secret here that I am a Mason.
Now some may disagree but I do consider myself fairly normal. I guess it depends on one's definition of normal.
I know there are a couple of others that post fairly often that are Masons. You'll find most Masons are just regular guys with an unusual interest in helping their community. The work done by the Shriners (must be a Mason to be a Shriner) is the most known. The charitable work done by each Lodge is lesser known. Our lodge supports a local abused women's shelter. No-one except the shelter director and financial officer knows of this financial support. The women are provided a Christmas dinner and presents for thei kids at the Lodge each year but to most that is all they receive from the local Masons. We also provide support to the widows of Masons. This is also done discreetly. There is more secrecy about our charitable acts than most of our ritual (it can all be found on the net).
I am pretty open about Masonry and my activities, so any questions you may have I am happy to address. I don't waste a lot of time with the conspiracy folks (no answer will ever be good enough) but I do understand those with a natural curiosity and do try to accommodate.
