my ex husband just told me that he will continue to facilitate visitation between my child and my jw family who is shunning me (see my other thread "i didn't think they could find another way to hurt me but...") he says i'm the one with the problem and that i should be "ashamed of myself".
it's not like i thought he'd cooperate, but for him to stand there and tell me that he will allow my sister full access to my child and there's not a damn thing i can do (and probably, legally, that's right) makes my blood boil.
makes me just want to swallow every fricking pill in the house.

I don't see it so much as jealousy as much as it is just general angst against anything or anyone that considers themselves better than others.
Most of us grew to hate bullies in school. The USA is acting more and more like a bully on the international scene. This is not something of which to be jealous.
The US is to be admired for their market share, the general wealth and success of the country and for their theories of human freedoms.
Admiration and jealousy are two different things. There are many reasons to admire the US but that doesn't mean every other country aspires to be like them.
I admire Sandra Day O'connor, but that doesn't mean I want to be a woman.

There are very few times when I use this word to describe someone, but in this case it is justified. That behaviour and the willful intent to decieve you is just evil.
There can be no way those actions could be justified as love or even an application of the shunning rule. It was just pure evil, done with the intent to hurt you and alienate your princess from you.
Even removing the religious aspect to all this, to intentionally deceive a mother about the goings on of her daughter is wrong. To deprive a mother the opportunity to see her daughter as a flower girl is just wrong. To allow you to spend the money on a new outfit is wrong.
There are few cases of evil in life. I am soooo sorry you had to experience one of them.

i never wanted to go to bethel but when i was a teenager, i wondered what i would need to do to become a circuit overseer.
I managed to achieve every level within the Borg I had set my mind to, including being a Bethelite, Bethel Departmental Overseer, Elder, gave Circuit and District assembly talks, and even an Instructor at one of the annual meetings for CO's and DO's about 9 years ago.
It wasn't worth it. That part of my soul that was lost as a result of getting where I was in the Borg is gone. Damn them. Damn me.

I appreciate Andi's stance on this as being one of balance.
I fail to understand what Trauma is bitching about and why he insists on bring up every personal clash he has with Bill to this site. It is just another tantrum from the drama hound imo. Bill is pig headed sometimes. That being said a more timid man wouldn't have had the fortitude to do what he has done to this point.
Yes Bill has alientated some. Show me any successful activist movement where everyone is happy with the process.
